Johnlloyd
I've been putting my Leon Haywood singles onto cd, and was wondering what else the man recorded. I've been collecting discographies for years, a bit anorakish I know, but do not have one of Leon Haywood. Could anyone who has a full or partial listing let me know. I will collate all I recieve and see if Dave Rimmer wants to add to his site. Many thanks, John. Link to comment Social source share
Guest eedeecee
I've been putting my Leon Haywood singles onto cd, and was wondering what else the man recorded. I've been collecting discographies for years, a bit anorakish I know, but do not have one of Leon Haywood. Could anyone who has a full or partial listing let me know. Many thanks, John. the ones that pop up immediately are the 45's on Decca -mellow moonlight'/ 'Tennessee waltz' -'cornbread and buttermilk'/it's got to be mellow' (R&B number 21) and the productions under various names -"Hole In The Wall" (R&B number 5/pop Top 50, 1965) under the name of the Packers -"Precious Memories" (R&B number 31, 1967) as the Romeos in the disco years Haywood came back with a few biggies... "Don't Push It Don't Force It" (R&B number 2 and US Top 50 1980) -"Tenderoni" (number 22 R&B 1984) besides his bigger hits I think your compilation is not complete without 'keep it in the family' and 'believe half of what you see', on 20th Century as well. Besides all this, the best and strongest tune IMO by Leon Haywood is 'Soul Cargo' on Fat Fish... Edited November 27, 2006 by eedeecee Link to comment Social source share
