I was at Tim’s other day snowed under with books and just two doing all the postage, there is a lot, plus all the normal business. You will get them shortly. 

So does it just cover the  Wigan era or does it give insights into other clubs and how Richard got into the scene etc. Richard didn't just turn up on the scene when wigan opened.

Just received mine!!!!.....looks like it's gonna be an interesting read....can't wait to commence reading it tonite...it'll be a break from 'war and peace', that's for sure!!!?

Still waiting but there was something like a 1,000 to sign and post out, that's a lot of franking for two people!

Mine arrived this afternoon - looks really good. It looks like the focus is strongly on the Wigan years but even just skimming through you can see that he does cover a wider era, mentioning Va-Va's and other clubs. Maybe there'll be a 2nd book to come - "Cueing up the B-side!"

I like that he's taken the theme of working through specific records as a sort of chapter sequence, and then spinning a story about the record and artist and wider aspects of the scene. And also that just like my filing of my singles, he lists the artists in alphabetical order by first name (e.g. Johnny Honeycutt and Johnny Williams are next to each other). I'm sure there will be many out there who think that's ridiculous, but it works for me!

Number 398. Just flicked through it and on page 103 found a picture of my sister with "George from Hull with friend". I've still never found a photo of me. I must have avoided the cameras!

450 ... and I’m guessing my mate may have got 451 or 449 as I ordered two at the same time . 

When I called Tim told me 1000 hard back, which are now sold, then there will be a further run in softback. 

Im away with no idea if mines come through, very much looking forward to it though.. 🙂 

Mine arrived this morning #153 - nice looking book - glossy pages and loads of colour photos - looking forward to reading it

Next week 5th the softback is out.

Although camaras in those days were not very good at capturing "speeding" images.

Nice, but I'd still have fancied having 45!

Having noted my being pleased to see Richard's approach of listing the records by first name of the artists, I am intrigued to see him writing on page 41 (in the piece about Billy Harner) that he accidentally reversed over his record box in 1977, but that thankfully because "What about the music" was filed "A-Z by title" it escaped the worst damage and still plays with a hairline crack.

Come on Richard - what's the story, how come you changed your approach to filing, or was it only by first name for this book?

Also - chuffed to read that you are already planning a follow-on book!

Arrived Saturday 750 the number not the time

Just got mine - looks fab. Limited edition number 600.

My copy number 754 arrived over the weekend whilst we were watching Richard live on stage in Manchester at the Bridgewater Hall presenting the Camerata Orchestra. What a fantastic night. 

Mine just arrived . No.188 and personally signed etc by the man himself which was a much appreciated nice touch . 

288. I'm on page 117, with Rob Marriott, Dean Penford, Garry Churm, Bri Beastall....oh and Edwin Starr.

Arrived at the weekend, number 653, interesting so far!

Correction - Dean Penfold......

Loved the Ann Bridgeforth 'Little Ann' page, I'd never seen a scan of the original acetate, I'm guessing that's the first time that had been seen other than via Richards Record box,  its a fabulous book... 🙂
