UK Demos Vs Issues Prices???

Recommended Posts

Have you noticed the great differential in Price for UK ,Demo against Issue ? Adorable JM ,firmly on the side of the Big AA,s,while Tim brown seems to support the issue ,stating that companies where much more profligate with Demos  hence Stock copies are Rarer?

What do you think , and Why?

Depends how successful a record was I suppose.

I mean demos of the Beatles 45s are very desirable even though there were quite a few made but compare that to hundreds of thousands or even millions of the issue copies.

I would always prefer a demo Stateside, Tamla-Motown, HMV or whatever as they are things of beauty to my eye.

Just to stray a little from the original question. There seems to have been some good condition UK collections up for sale lately, demos and rare issues of Tamla Motown, Stateside etc. Maybe a sign of the times!

Depends on the record in question, e.g Hoagy Lands - Next in Line -Stateside demos are far more common than the withdrawn issue.

I would love to meet the person who stuck a 'Not for sale' sticker on my HL Stateside issue😢
