So sad news-Mark Ellis-Rotherham

Recommended Posts

Sad news regarding the sudden passing of Mark Ellis from Rotherham. Knew Mark for over 40 years from Samanthas and then introduced to him properly at the Windmill on a sunday night.  From then on we went everywhere together- the casino, following the Wednesday home and away and holidays. He was my best man and we always kept in touch. Later on I used to see him at the 100 club , the Wilton and Lifeline. He had a photographic memory regards labels and artists and corrected me on many occasion.  He was also well travelled going to parts of the world which were really unknown for vacations back in the day. He really was a gentle soul and I will miss him greatly. The last 5 years had not been a good time for Mark,  and finally I hope he can find the peace he deserved. Sleep well mate

I remember one night he said to me..."Come and meet my other half"....He led me across the car park to meet his beloved dog, which was waiting patiently for him in his car .

He was a lovely bloke was Mark. Very sad news indeed.

R.I.P mate.

This is heartbreaking news.

What a lovely & sincere guy he was.

Last saw him a Pikeys Dog’s funeral and we had a nice catch up in the circumstances.

So very sad, why are all the good ones being taken?!!

Sending love & comfort to his family & close friends at this awful time.

Rest In Peace Mark

You will be missed

When someone passes, it's always sad, but sharing a great photo of them, if you have one, would be appreciated.

Its amazing how we can remember a face more than a name.

Sounds like Mark led a full life of keeping the faith, and was well loved and respected. RIP.

Guest woolie mark

I can't find any words to express my feelings for the loss of this truly beautiful person, except I am humbled and privileged to have been one of his close friends.

Mark was such a big character on the allnighter scene.  He had this way of being amazingly honest and straightforward with people.  I would be sitting with him at an allnighter and be commenting to him about somebody on the dance floor and he would say something like "Oh, that's Julie" and the next minute he would have dragged them over and introduced them to me saying something like "This is my friend Mark, he thinks you're a brilliant dancer".  He always had nice things to say to people.  Soul music was one of the loves of his life (after his mum and his dog).  If there is a heaven up there, I'm sure the first thing he would have asked St Peter is "Where can I find Dave Hamilton?".  It was Mark who gave me the nickname "woolie" (because I was living in Woolwich at the time).  He had a great sense of humour, he had me laughing all of the time I was with him.  He was one of the best.

This is Mark at one of his most happiest places in the world (except maybe Hillsborough).
