No. Dave Abbott played just one record at the now famous SSCDT Alldayer, the track being Bobby Hebbs, Love Love Love.

Mind you, saying that the shortness of his spot was by choice, whereas your's wasn't.

Sorry, my warped sense of humour, i feel for you only getting the chance to play the two tunes & the sound system breaking down, it's not funny & i know i wouldn't be too happy if it happened to me.

I was sort of taking the mickey out of myself also as i'm always banging on about what is NS & what isn't, this slapped me in the face earlier when i pulled Ady up on his R & B track only to find out he was playing at an R & B night!

The Ella track is great & i spun it myself last Friday at Da Doo Ron Ron!

Simon

Well I thought it was funny post too. Some people, no sense of humour..... :)

That spot will probably go down in legend.

You've gone even further than the Wigan boys. They had the 3 before 8......

.......you've now got the 2 before 12 :D

Cheers mate... will catch up on the 30th ....

:shades::yes:

At least the speakers went in the last spot and people could go down to the other room..

Sorry if it ruined anyones evening... For some reason one of the speakers blew earlier on, so to compensate for it we turned the master up on the other speaker then this blew, it was nothing to do with the sound limiter as we never lost the power at any stage, which is what the limiter cuts out... its not old gear, Chris only bought the speakers/kit 18 months ago, so probably only been used out 10 times at the most... oh well what can we say except sorry  ..

Cheers everyone for making it a blinding night..... Some top tunes played as always ..

Hope to see you for our 5th Anniversary in Feb 2007... with bigger and better speakers... Chris has already decided what he wants

Mischief

Thank god for that, glad you explained, I thought it was me dancing too near speakers! God did I feel stupid!! :D

great backdrop mate

almost as good as the people singing "silence is golden" and "silent night" when the speakers went down

moldie

sorry didnt know we were meant to sing, I only sing to music. :shades:

but no one seemed to care much, people just carried on chatting!

Thanks for good nite.

shame on the person who knocked my wingmirroroff - that was stuck on with tape after someone smashed it week earlier - had to drive home on M25 50mph all the way!!

Happy Xmas to you too!!

im not sure you have seen this as i put it in events lookbacks

here it is anyway

well its all over till next feb which is our 5th anniversary

ill start by saying a big thankyou to everyone that turned up last night and made it such a good night

the promoters here at lightwater are very sorry about the blown speakers last night but there was nothing we could do.we had a spare amp,2 decks, headphones, leads, mike and numerous other bits and peices

we do hope it didnt spoil your night too much and as a special thanks for your support we have decided to put on a free northern night in the downstairs room.no date has been fixed as yet but watch this space for details

we would also like to wish you all a very merry xmas and a happy and soulful new year.

we hope to see you all and more on the 24th feb 2007 for what promises to be a cracking night

this will be followed throughout the year by a pound in the pot night.a kent collective night and more than likely a boy meets girl night were a male and female will double deck on each spot

regards

moldie and the lightwater team
