Paths of Glory....a great film. That final scene in the bar is just superb.

Never come across that before but just watched the Kirk Douglas trench scene and totally blown away - need to see the rest of it now 😃

Bryan Mosley better cast as a Corrie grocer though - "You're a big man but you're in bad shape" 😄

It's his best ever, and he did some impassioned stuff - Lust For Life, Spartacus etc.

as we are nearly in February (already) thought I'd mention Ground Hog Day, I always think of it as an Xmas film but it's not ofc, being February 2

love it

Yes a great film - I also like Bill Murray in 'Scrooged' - What a stress head! Brilliant! :D

To Kill a Mockingbird

I know that is more than 5, but I may be listing for a friends too :)

Just brilliant / moving......."Stand up, your father's passing".......We like it so much, we have a lovely poster of the film in our hall way.

As we haven't as yet been told off for naming more than 5 films, I'd like to also add 'Mrs Miniver', and 'Howard the Duck'

Many thanks to those who responded.  Unsurprisingly Godfather, in various guises most mentioned.  It has also given me a few I'd never seen/heard of to hunt out at some point.

This is about as difficult as picking the top 5/10 soul tunes but I'm going to go with films I took out and haven't seen for ages.

1) THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI, OUTSTANDING CAST AND FABULOUS MOVIE.

2) SLEEPERS - AS ABOVE AND POWERFUL AS F***!

3) DONNIE BRASCO - AL PACINO - WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO BE SAID?

4) CARLITO'S WAY - AL PACINO.

5) IT (2017) - FANTASTIC CAST AND BRILLIANT PERFORMANCES.

Incidentally, looking at this I see lots of movies listed I have never seen that I am now keen to check out - great post.

The Sweet Smell of Success

I've not seen this for about 35 years, must watch it again. I've got an EP of some of the Chico Hamilton quartet's music from the film which is really great.
