Manchester City Centre

Night out next Saturday in Manchester, Print Works, Northern Quarter, Deansgate etc ie in the city centre. Are there any bars, pubs, clubs centrally located playing Northern/Motown?

Looking at the events guide there’s ‘stuff’ happening around the outskirts and the Twisted Wheel on Sunday but looking for something Saturday night and central.

The only thing close to the print work's is the Irish centre.  5 minutes maximum in a taxi. Sorry I've  never been so i cant give any idea of what to expect.  The only one that's on that I've been  ( long time ago ) is  Stockport guild hall. It was absolutely rammed, mainly oldies plus motown room, not sure on current attendances or music. Hope you find something to your tastes and have a good time

Give Soulsville Whitefield a whirl, which is on the 9th March assuming thats the weekend your in Manchester. Always a warm welcome, but make sure you get there early as its always packed. A nice little venue with a great crowd. Catch the Bury tram from Manchester city centre , off peak return is about £4.50 make sure you buy before you board, takes around 25 mins get off at the Whitfield stop. just across the road is Morrisons , follow the main rd , take the first right right at the end of morrisons Elms Rd and its on your left. less than two mins walk from the tramstop. Last tram back to city centre is 00.36 . Hope this is useful.

most of the soul venues are on the periphery of Manchester and little if anything in the city centre compared to what they used to be, so for a good night out this saturday the 9th of March try the one at Stanley House , Audenshaw soul club (Ashton Old Road) , its their 4th anniversary this weekend and should be a packer, £4 door tax from 1930 to 0030, about 20 minutes from manchester city centre

Try the Lower Turks Head in Shudehill. They have regular Northern nights and Sunday afternoons. Around the corner from Printworks. Might be worth giving them a ring.
