I firstly want to apologise if this has been covered before

This group (seemingly from Chicago) released a couple on Savern (I wonder if like Sagport, this was one by Zono Sago (real name Alan Williams)

They were backed by The Joneses (I don't know if they are connected to the Joneses we all know)

Info would be great please :)

He'd been around for ages, any early group he led … his modern sound, deffo not Modern Soul …

What was the connection between Sagport / Savern's Frankie Newsome … AND …  the Vontastics / Karol Records Bobby James / Spring Records Bobby Newsome (Robert L Newsome) …..  brothers, cousins ??

Most songs released on Savern were credited to Nicolet music … as were lots of other top Chicago written numbers (including Major Lance's "Monkey Time")

I found this

which amazingly leads straight back to Lashawn Collins which I have been wondering about for ages and Numero Group had seemingly "No knowledge"

There is also some kind of connection with Nicolet Music and the Penny and

Nickel labels which were owned by Chicago dj Richard Pegue -

The type face on most of these releases is very similar :)

"I got to space" was also done by the Classetts on Ultraclass records...but it has different writing credits...
