Popular Post Roburt
He even got to tour the UK back in September 1965 … as well as a number of gigs at the Flamingo he did other UK shows (including the allnite session @ the Twisted Wheel on 26th September -- in fact I believe he was the 1st US act to appear at the Whitworth St venue). Amsterdam Russ
RIP. From what I've read, Johnson made an appearance on Ready Steady Go in 1965. Is that correct? And if so, any footage? 1 Link to comment Social source share

Geoff
Sad news indeed. One of the best "big city soul" singers. First came to my attention with There's Always Something There To Remind Me, later overshadowed by Sandy Shaw's version. Always liked his version of If I Never Get To Love You which I've never heard played anywhere. I think he was used by Burt Bacharach to demo songs, sure I read that somewhere. RIP Lou, thank you for the music that improved our lives. 2 Link to comment Social source share
Popular Post Tomangoes
Very sad news. Always remember magic potion at the Mexborough Brickyard club. Never heard it anywhere else, and it sticks out as a sublime soul record. RIP Ed 6 Link to comment Social source share

Guest
For some of us of a certain vintage, who began their journey on the scene at a certain time, "Unsatisfied" will always bring back truly wonderful memories. To this day I can't help but smile whenever I hear it played. Many, many thanks Mr. Johnson. R.I.P. Link to comment Social source share

Popular Post Westender
Top singer. Should have enjoyed far more success than he did. This isn't typical of his output but the combination of Lou and the Muscle Shoals musicians sounded so good to me. Popular Post Gilly
Yes, what an artist, had almost everything by him inc UK demos, EP, blue, white and yellow US Unsatisfied, Big Top and Big Hill, Canadian Quality Unsatisfied and Magic Potion. LP +a copy of "The Panic is On" long before it got released courtesy of Ady C. Weaned on Unsatisfied and Magic Potion. As you can see I was rather obsessive about him. Only had the extended version of Unsatisfied on CD not acetate. Thankyou Lou, oh how would have loved to see you sing live. R.I.
