CYNTHIA & THE IMAGINATIONS - Hey Boy (I Love You) (Blue Rock 4074)

A classic from 1969, same backing tracks as "Things That A Lady Ain't Supposed To Do" by The Four Dynamics on Peachtree 129

DEE DEE WARWICK - We're Doing Fine (Blue Rock 4027)

A gem from 1965, also issued in the UK on Mercury MF 867. The song was stolen by Andrew Oldham who claimed writer credits on "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" by PP Arnold.

THE PRODUCERS - Love Is Amazing (Huff Puff)

Late '60s favourite from Gamble-Huff, was overlooked but now getting attention. Uncredited lead vocalist may be Mikki Farrow (?)

I obtained a fresh copy of this recently from someone called Pete Smith

VICKI ANDERSON - Wide Awake In A Dream (Deluxe 6201)

Brilliant 1966 version of this great Lloyd Campbell & Phillip James (Blues Busters) song. Produced by James Brown, this was also issued on King 6274 and Brown cut it again in 1974 on Lyn Collins (People 641) which was issued in the UK on Polydor. There are some nice reggae versions of this song too.

HOAGY LANDS - True Love At Last (UK American USA 13)

A wonderful beat ballad not issued in the USA

There's a report of an early 60's album with tracks by Hoagy on it in and I think this may be one of them. But as you say, UK only on a 45 !

Thanks Mick,

The link has now been corrected. At least I didn't play it at the wrong speed.

thanks Paul, actually dug this out to play a couple of days ago, sounds just right for today,as they say, always did wonder who the vocalist was, other side "lady, lady, lady" is probably the side that was played "back in the day"
