Lewis Hodnett of the Universals (Clock) RIP

Recommended Posts

Lewis Hodnett from the Universals,  who cut and co-wrote with his brothers and sister, ' Diamonds & Pearls' on the Newark based  Clock  label in 1969 has passed on in Virginia recently . 'Diamonds & Pearls' was a popular Keb Darge spin at Stafford in the mid 80s.

The Universals had a brief recording history cutting just the two 45s for Clock. Robert Banks arranged both their records. I offer condolences to his family.
