Eddie Floyd - 1967 original performance contract (Durham, North Carolina).

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107600) for an appearance by Eddie Floyd at a venue in Durham, North Carolina. Performance date July 1967. Details of rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. This contract from Eddie's early Stax years is dated within a year either side of the releases of "Knock on wood" and "Raise your hand".

Arthur Conley - original 1967 performance contract (venue series).

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA #107171) between the agency and Super Attractions of New York for series of appearances by Arthur Conley in New York, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Performance dates through April and May 1967. Details of venue locations, rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. Package also comes with a rider attached to the contract detailing venue locations and show times. This particular contract is historically significant, as it marks the exact months during which "Sweet Soul Music" reached #2 in the Hot Top 100 Billboard and the Billboard Hot R&B single charts. The intention of this series of appearances was to promote the record nationally. Conley was kept busy during this period between these live performances and TV appearances on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.

Z.Z. Hill - performance contract (The Ponderosa, Bexley, Georgia).

From the Walden Artists and Promotions / Paragon estate. Performance booking contract (AGVA # BC33835) for a July 1972 appearance at The Ponderosa, Bexley, Georgia. Outlines the artist fees, deposit, terms and conditions, and rehearsal times.

This original contract is in very good condition, with no tears, minimal creasing and no defacement. The package contains the top copy contract, two office carbon copies and two riders referring to show date and time and deposit to be paid.

Betty Wright - original performance contract (Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas)

From the Waldon Artists and Promotions / Paragon Agency estate. An original performance booking contract (AGVA # BC43138 ) for an appearance by Betty Wright at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Performance date December 1972. Details of venue location, rehearsal and show times, fees, terms and conditions, and deposit requirements are referenced. The document derives from the middle of her period with Alston label, within a year or so of "Clean Up Woman" and "I'm Gettin' Tired Baby". The contract package contains the orginal contract, three office carbon copies and three deposit riders. The contract and copies are all signed by the artist.
