Well that's hardly the act of playing an original that's at fault there , more to do with 'DJing' at a Mickey Mouse do full of piss-heads stumbling about ... ?

But harsh, IMHO. You get piss heads  everywhere.

You’d still have your near mint copy of Tobi Legend if you hadn’t bothered

Thats the risk we have all taken and with far more expensive and far far rarer records than Tobi Legend. If you don’t want to take that risk don’t do it, plenty who will with real records. Plenty with great records who don’t get booked.
What is wrong these days just going along and having a night out as a punter why does everyone want to Dj. Just having the records doesn’t make anyone a Dj.

Think it's an overhang from dance dj culture. It never seemed to be around in the   80' s to the same extent, pre the impact of house.

Shouldn't have to TAKE RISKS, should be playing his tunes for all to enjoy, not to have em nicked,or ruined by,a piss Ed,and it doesn't matter how rare or expensive,a record it is,they are the guys pride and joy,and nowt wrong with just being a punter, but it's nice to be asked to play, and what's a real record ? and as far as plenty with great records who never get booked, well that's because folk are set in there ways  and prefer to go venues with the old yesteryear DJs than go and support an unknown dj who will play the same tunes, and fill a floor for half the fee,and yes just having records doesn't make us all DJs,but there no better feeling than playing your tunes,to a packed floor,

I agree but in my experience not many promoters put the security of the decks and the Dj first, nearly all are accessible by anyone.  They should be a no go area tbh, especially given the value up there.

agree with this, and punters should show some respect, I've never once felt the need to be a nosey so and so and approach the decks
