have to say it is Rather Good, What Do You Think?

Having only just got myself the original I think this is pretty good, if you had just posted it without saying it was from a new cd I don't think i would have occurred to me that it wasn't an old alternative version 👍

Well i know what a lot of you are going to say to say "it's a Cover Version" and it's on a CD but here we have Don Bryant With "Cracked Up Over You" From his New U.S. Album on Possum Records entitled "You Make Me Feel" and have to say it is Rather Good, What Do You Think?

Like it. Heard a few more tracks from the album and they are equally fine. Good, uncomplicated covers well performed by the band and Don. Very much like his last album.

Don must be be one of the busiest artists ever if you look at his repertoire and live gigs.

He has that gritty Southern voice that adds to the sound.

Getting some exposure due to a tv advert currently. What a cracking track it is. JT's vocal is (obviously) top notch but the horns and Cropper's guitar are equally ace. Classic and timeless Memphis Soul....

Malaco magic from the great Little Milton. Classic soul from a time when it had gone out of style.

A track I've only just discovered. Sly Stone was ahead of his time and a bit of a genius. Here's a belting early outing, very nicely arranged and produced with a great vocal from Larry Graham...

Now here is of my spins from 1996 from Sir William Scott (ANUDAY PRODUCTIONS) will be interesting to some folk on here that this was Distributed by our very own John Andersons "Soul Bowl" PO Box 3 Kings Lynn Norfolk PE 30 1PE England which may come as a surprise to some people, maybe not. Still sounds good to these ears today, love it.

The title Love Gone Bad reminds me of this terrific solo outing from Mavis Staples.

Any recording featuring Mavis has a head start on most others in that she has the voice along with the ability to make any lyric come alive. She really could sing the telephone directory and make it sound good.....

Couldn't not include one of the best cover versions ever, has to be the long version though with the atmosphere building and building until Gloria starts to wail.. and boy, when she does!
