have the original LP but just got an alert it's now available as a re-issue, Terry Callier LP with his later take on Ordinary Joe, track below is stand out one (I can't seem to show vids anymore just links)

Thanks for posting ... had forgotten how good it was.  You know how it is you think you 'know' a track from the past and almost dismiss it.  Probably haven't heard this for 20/30 years as always skip by it.

I have the stock copy of this one, glorious breathy vocals, it sounds like an unreleased Motown track (e.g., Lewis Sisters, kind of)

... didn't realise this was a Mecca spin ... first heard it played at Wigan ... Dave Evison used to hammer it!  Wasn't she originally from scouse land and emigrated to Australia where this was first released?  'Proper' blue-eyed tune ... there were some decent ones played along with the dross 🙂

Does this still, get plays?

Not one that I own ... as you can't buy it (as far as I'm aware) .. but found this on YT a nice cover of Marvin Gaye's Sad Tomorrows (flip to Mercy Mercy Me) done live by The Ashton Moore Organisation - I like it ... see what you think:

Switching it around a bit ... a modern soul stepper with jazz flavas 'Should I' from 1999 debut (and only) album 'Black Butterfly' from Grenique (CD only)

Also came out as her first of only 2 singles on CD & 12" only. Neither got a UK release but can be picked up for about a tenner.

Always in the running when anyone asks me my favourite Northern tune, I've never been a great dancer and much as I love it I've never been able to dance to it.

The Dells sounding just fantastic. Marvin.....what a singer. Simple arrangement but that can't detract from the wonderful vocals.

Not sure how well known this is ... but ... another take on Giving Up On Love (Aki Aleong 1963, Jerry Butler 1964, Sonny Childe 1965, Thee Midniters 1966) ..  by Little Jr. Jesse & His Tear Drops from 1971:  .... Sounds like George Lemons moonlighting on vocals  🤣

I agree ... sounds a bit blue-eyed ... it's from her '66 LP How Do You Say I Don't Love You Anymore which is a mainly MOR which I bought blind years ago.

There are a few other half decent tracks if you like beat ballads:

Only just come across this track from last year ...  It was on Soul Togetherness 2019 CD so I assume it has been hammered by DJ's ... if not it should be!

Can buy it here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Giving-Remixes-Terri-Green-Project/dp/B07RF9FH3Q but looks like digital only or whole 'What A Feeling' album on CD?

The Terri Green Project ‎– Giving It Up:

P.S. The other side is a decent remake/rehash? of Shalamar's - Night To Remember.

UPDATE: Somehow missed this ... it IS on vinyl released 29th Nov 2019:

best track in (for once) an underwhelming album in the series (imo), listened to the LP tonight and it's too laid back overall, they need to return to the old formula from the first 3 LP's in the series which have stood the test of time

Another one slightly out of left field. Susan is essentially a blues artist but with a hint of soul and country in her repertoire (check out the Tedeschi Trucks Band). She's just really good........

Nice one fella. I've had a '66 version of this song by Brenda Lee for ages, and I knew I had heard the song somewhere else. Now I know where. 👍
