Wow...just had the pleasure of running through this thread. Some cracking tunes and the majority new to me.

My contribution originates from a tape I had around 76 on a track that was a mecca play, but I've never heard it out. Enjoy

Totally new to me and love it.  Can see why this was a Mecca play as can easily see me having danced to this at a Northern or Jazz Funk do.  It reminds me of I Hate Hate but with a summery backdrop.

Although I went to the Mecca a few times it was after the main thrust had taken place.

However a mate of mine had an older brother who was there during its heyday and bought records such as this.

Around 76 I was given a tape of the best ones and it was priceless. Mandrill, Heartstoppers, Claude baby Huey, Marvin Sease, Jimmy Thompson, etc. I managed to buy a lot of them over the next couple of years as the older brother had thrown in the towel.

This was my favourite below....and has since been revived...but at the time I'm sure ONLY the Mecca crowd were listening to gems like this.

Magical and much under rated track from the guys. The harmonies and the leads are just beautiful. The Temptations still had a lot of great music in them in the 80's and beyond.....

Cant go wrong for under £10 with postage included.

If records were valued on the sound this would be worth a mint.

I think there's more to this label that meets the Eye or Ear, not convinced it's a Label just putting boots out! What do you think Geeselad, what's the evidence around it, do you think it's just assumptions, we have had stories like this on other record labels only to find over time to be baseless. It is very strange to say the least
