Posting items overseas question

Posted

Sending a vinyl to Europe, say worth £100 and it appears the PO offer two slightly different services: Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed   v.   Royal Mail International Tracked. Essentially, I want to know where it is & when  arrived  safely. Which service do you use / recommend? Any customs stuff to take into account?

TIA

The difference between the two is that the first service requires a signature. If you're sending to someone abroad you're not 100% confident of - a first-time customer, for example – go for this.

At the same time, records above a certain value sent from the UK by International Tracked (without a signature) and have never yet had a problem with a package go missing.

Either service is good and reliable and the only real difference is a signature. The internationally tracked used to be called Airsure I think but RM changed the name.

A note of caution is that if you want to insure high value items for full value the cost jumps massively.

i went for the one requiring a signature. I think you're right about the second option being the better for higher value items, but defo check the insurance rate as they really hype up the cost, seems to go up exponentially !
