K-MART RECORDS FEBRUARY 2020 SALES LIST

Karlm

Recommended Posts

Hi and welcome to the first K-Mart list of the decade. No January list because of travelling makes up for a real meaty one this time around. A real nice and varied one too. Everything from early 60s soul, northern soul, ballads and crossover to modern, two step, latin soul to a section of brazilian soul/funk/jazz albums.

PM to reserve!

Some of the highlights below:

Modern soul – indie label 45’s from Executive Jam, Richardi Mac “Told you so”, Larry Connor (“Cupid”) and Chuck Strongs version of “Doin’ it cause it feels good”. Major label greats like Trumains “Ripe for the pickin'” (scarce issue copy with a sublime ballad on the flip), Southside Movement “Do me” and Kalyan on Rca. Albums and 12 inch rarities from California Playboys, Van Jones, Loveman Ronnie Stokes, Rocket and Lou Ragland.

Two step – TW Bankston original US 45, David Oliver 45’s x3 + album and rare/obscure ones from Nu-Cleus, Teac and Citation.

Crossover – Wilson Williams “I can’t get used to losing you”, Lost Generation and Walter Jackson Brunswick double headers and a Sag War Fare reissue.

Northern soul – Ruby Winters “Better”, Contemplations “Alone with no love” (first press that came out two years prior to the Rock Candy release), Barbara & Brenda x2, Teddy & Fingerpoppers on Arctic, Bobby Taylor “Roses”.

Sweet/Group soul – Masters of Soul (“Lovely little Lassie”), New Born Lite, Gloria & Relations, Lady Margo, Pacesetters (“What about me, baby”), Calif. Malibus and forementioned Van Jones album.

Latin soul – just a couple both all rare and great. 45’s from Chollo Riviera and Sunny & Sunlighters (“The one who’s hurtin’ is you”). Albums by Frankie Nieves and Joe Acosta.

Brazilian albums – all classic titles from classic artists as Emilio Santiago, Marcos Valle, Jorge Ben etc

To top it off there’s also a small section of nice and soulful reggae 45’s

And for all of my precious UK customers: Well Brexit finally did happen, the trade agreement however will not change until 2021. To what we will have to see but until then it’s business as usual, no customs duty etc. And for all you others outside the European Union I will of course help to write down values etc.
