Day 7 of isolation and only now feel a bit better ..

Both my partner and I have the virus ... and I got admitted to a specialist C19 clinic in Harrow to have my breathing tested . Lost sense of taste and smell for the last 4 days, but thankfully all ok and allowed home.

Just have to get through this the best we can and as we are both key workers we need to make sure we are both over this before returning to work .

Really do want to give a big shout out to all the NHS workers that both man the phones  or work on the front line , as well as all the ancillary workers , without whom the whole system wouldn’t work .

Stay home and save lives 🙏

this season is killing me - it’s all Gary Neville fault

Not too bad here, thought I would be pulling my hair out with boredom which would be hard if you see my avatar lol

Trying to get some exercise everyday and cut down on the booze , I have never watched as much TV but I do not think I have missed much 👍

Keep safe everyone especially those of you working in the NHS and social care you have my total admiration. 👋.

Thank you Mr Shinehead. It's very scary, there isn't enough PPE but if it's any comfort, outside of that we are prepared and ready to do battle!  I feel very proud to be part of an amazing organisation. They've transformed the services at my hospital in three weeks.   Staff are frightened, nobody wants to go to work.  It's that whole feeling sick in the morning thing, but we go, we do our jobs, and hope this all comes to an end as soon as possible.  The reaction of the public and comments like yours have a massive impact on morale.  So a heartfelt thank you for that. 🤗

Thanks Steve ..

This has been a very scary but also a very surreal experience and it’s no where near over. It does bring the harsh realities of life to the fore , but I keep trying to look for positives . Looking after those in more need , bringing family and friends closer with more contact on all fronts .

As I said before , my hats go off to all those on the front line , you really all are the true hero’s in all of this !

"Working from home" until tomorrow. Painted the fence at the weekend and started to sort out the garage; only problem will be what to do with the stuff to be chucked out since I can't get to the tip (not that it will be open). Wife has a plan to go through the house room by room giving it a thorough spring clean. Sure there will be jobs for me arising from that.

Bought some veg seeds just in case there are some food shortages later this summer so will need to plant those. Restart my couch to 5K program and finally set up a discogs seller account.

Need to avoid lounging about in PJ's and watching daytime TV; that will be the start of a slippery slope

Well recommended . It's times like this that I wish I didn't live in a city with all the light pollution otherwise I would be using this a lot more .

The night sky yesterday was the clearest and brightest I can recall.

Lots of light pollution around us, and we're very close to Schiphol airport, but I do wonder if the restrictions on flights and the overall reductions in road traffic - and thus reductions in air pollution - has contributed towards making the celestial heavens that little bit more visible at present.

I love a good jigsaw!  Look what I've been doing! Keep your neck warm. A polo neck jumper, without the jumper, because I can't do jumpers.  You just pull em over your head! Fold them over to fit.  Lightweight, easy to pack, put in your pocket and don't whip your face in the wind!  Orders now being taken 😂. Perfect for footie matches or those cold days digging in the garden, or having a fag outside a soul do.IMG_20200328_193801935.thumb.jpg.deeacd3f33caf859106311ca6db7db8e.jpg

If anyone could do these, but a lot smaller, the nurses use them on pediatric care units to keep the baby's arms & legs warm when they have IVs in situ, but need regular access so can't put clothes on them.

The feminine word for cat ("une chatte") pronounce the TTs has the same double entendre meaning as the English word "pussy."

Hi Mike,

As you say, here we all are on our 3rd week, and I think it's now sinking in how hard this is going to be (Not least missing loved ones) I'm lucky to be at work on my own which gets me out of the house - I so feel for anyone who is having to stay in a flat, especially if they have young children.

Spirits still good in our house-hold (I really should have a break from the spirits this week though) :D

Please share what you're all getting up to folks - It's great to know!

Hang in there everyone!

I'm in week three out of twelve.  Even I feel sorry for me. 😎. Just going out to wash and wax the car. Wax on. Wax off . Even going to rain-ex the windows,  so I'm ready for the lifting of the isolation,  whenever that will be 🤔😁

Sounds like plenty still ignoring lockdown - just talking to the coalman who's been delivering in Betws y Coed area this morning and been told of huge influx of people over the weekend. Anglesey badly hit as well. Dread to think what might be in store for Bank Holiday. Have a feeling Government will impose stricter conditions this week.

My wife is still having to go into work so I am remembering how to do some of the household chores......

Listening to Solar Radio; saints preserve us Tony Monson has just played Lets All Chant by Michael Zager!

Found time to plant some veg seeds just in case we need to be self sufficient later this summer.

Betws-y-Coed is on my list to revisit once these sanctions are lifted,  not been since end of January,  try to get there every few months ..Can't wait to return , worth the 200 miles round trip from Manchester
