Examples of being ripped off - covid 19 related

I've been doing up a property from just before the lock down and paid about £7 a bag for plaster.

The factories shut, and production stopped, and for a few months it's been flying off the ebay shelves at up to £40 a bag.

Supply and demand sucks....

Any more examples of this opportuism?

Back on topic, lol

Just prior to lockdown, and for work purposes, I needed a mask to issue to a tipper driver that had to transport a load of asbestos on our behalf.. went on line and most sites displaying 'out of stock, but one company had them at the on-line price of £4.50.. but had to buy them in packs of five.. No worries and proceeded to complete the order.. when the payment screen came up they were now £20 each !! plus VAT..

Had little choice, but given we then saw lockdown the surplus masks have proved a useful and worthwhile purchase 🙂

Home gym equipment has seen a lot of price gouging the last couple of months.

That's if you can get hold of it.

Doubling of prices overnight for many items in March. Current price for some home gym friendly punchbags is 3-4x normal.
