It’s been a while and I’ve missed you, hope everyone that reads this is well.  Here’s a quarter century of soul titles, range of styles, range of prices, and nowt less than Excellent condition.  Happy to provide sound files where not included, PM any questions or to reserve.

1) Willie Williams – Have you ever been played for a fool – ABC 10860 WD M- £125

(Powerhouse dancer)

2) Gino Washington – I’ll be around / Like my baby – Atac 102 WD M- £125

(2 classic tunes in their best format, red Xol)

3) Barbara English – (You got me) sittin’ in the corner – Aurora 155 DJ Ex+ £150

(Forgotten for some time, given it a dust off and reminded myself what a great up-tempo dancer this really is, the label has a few scours in it and light ring wear, but the vinyl is Ex or better and the tune refreshingly good)

4) Clay Hunt – Your love’s gone bad – Bay Sound 67005 M- £100

(Not 100 mph but a very forceful in your face vocal delivery.  2 Xol)

5) Dee Clark – That’s my girl – Constellation 113 Ex £100

(Classic finger popping oldie, always been a feel good tune, on yellow lined label)

6) Larry Williams & Johnny Watson – Too late / Two for the price of one – Epic 7281 Ex+ £400

(Rare Canadian release of this brilliant, and no pun intended 2 for the price of 1, coupling of 2 monster Okeh tunes.  US demos going for 300+ but if you think the valuation on this rarer format is out, make a reasonable offer)

7) Oscar Wright – Leave me alone – Fairmount 1011 DJ M- £175 SOLD

(More than a beat ballad, this has some sass, great track that grows as it goes, superb)

😎 Tony Michaels – I love the life I live – Golden World 41 WD M- £150

(Tidy mid-tempo from the reliable GW set up)

9) Marvellos – Somethings burnin’ – Loma 2045 M- £180

(Great example of up and down, in and out roller coaster ride group soul, on WBs heavily packed R&B subsidiary)

10) Lydia Marcelle – It’s not like you – Manhattan 809 Ex+ £180

(NOLA label, famous for Danny Owens, some pressed in bubbles that DNAP)

11) Larry Williams – I am the one / You ask for one good reason – Okeh 7280 WD Ex+ £150

(Top quality double sider, would be M- bar a partial and light sheen on flip, which DNAP)

12) Artistics – This heart of mine – Okeh 111809 WD Ex+ £100 SOLD

(Purple vinyl release of this Northern anthem with Ted Taylor flip)

13) Michael & Raymond – Man without a woman – RCA 9244 WD EX+ £150

(Just imagine if it was just like the title 🤣, no grief over booze, snack’s or sport on TV, classic RCA Northern)

14) Kelly Garrett – Love’s the only answer – Smash 2195 M- £325

(Red stock copy, harder than demo, number on label, flip has 2 labels affixed, the top one edge has folded)

15) Exsaveyons – I don’t love you no more – Smoke 600 M- £120

(Brilliant track, love a green label, most copies come up in lesser condition)

16) Hun’s Review – Don’t make me love you / Danger zone – Sorro 967 M- £650

(Killer double sider from Allentown, Pennsylvania, “Danger zone” gets my vote, but both dance floor winners, and fits right into today’s groove, DJ & * Stamped, letter A written on)

17) Jimmy (Soul) Clark – Sweet darlin’ – Soul Hawk 001 Ex £100

(We were all brought up on these Bread and butter Detroit sides)

18) Tommy Bass – (I can’t help it baby) this is my thing – Soulful 1004 Ex+ £400 SOLD

(Hard edged NYC R&B, funky horns, gravely vocals, no mincing about here)

19) Fantastics – That one / High note – Sound Stage Seven 2548 M- £150

(Superb double sider and not the only one by these on the label, the group hailing from Houston features the scene renowned Bobby Williams, on a lovely Red stock copy)

(Great Detroit double sider, seems to be having a resurgence, Xol)

21) Derek Martin – If you go / Ten to one – Sue 143 WD M- £125

(2 fabulous sides on one 45, doesn’t get better than combinations like this, beautiful white east coast demo, 66-SU-267 mix)

(Charged up dancer on many playlists)

23) Rose Battiste – I can’t leave you – Thelma 102 WD M- £275

(Femme Detroit at its very best, great artist, everything she did is worth having)

24) Bob Relf – Blowing my mind to pieces / Girl you’re my kind of wonderful – Trans-American 0010 M- £200

(What more do we want, top 60s dance floor destroyer backed with a cultured crossover dancer, only blemish is residue mark from sticker on flip)

25) Eugene Record – Overdose of joy – Warner Bros 8386 WD M- £150

(Chi-Lites vocal legend delivers a very nice late seventies groover, original release of course)
