Well in our house Bobby Hebb Love Love Love has been an almost daily play for the last 50 years. Recently, the last 15 years we have played the Len Barry original version too. And debated which is the best. Certainly one original is cheap as chips and the other isn't !!!!!!!!!! Both great though

Not sure why that track shines above the almost 12000 northern and soul tracks we own but it never fails to stir us. Its only tarnish is a memory of hearing the dire Soussan instrumental version AAaagh

I remember a particular night at Wigan Casino main hall, standing looking up the dance floor from the record bar at the back of the hall. 

"I Belong To You" Milton Wright was played, and the dance floor was totally jam packed, spilling off on the edges.     It created an amazing atmosphere!

This was before it was a general release on Grapevine records, so it was still an absolute monster sound then!

Sweet and heavenly melody is the other side and was a big room play at the Casino 20 /25 years before.  You just don't know was played. Both fantastic sides

Oh wow. I'd forgotten just how good this track is. What memories. We had this on a reel to reel tape  with a player that worked off batteries so we could take it in the car. This was before cassette tapes, never mind Walkmans, iPhones and the like. We would sing along when heading to the Torch Cats or the Raven, trying to replicate the Superlatives harmonies 'love you, need you, want you".

Don't know who put that tape together for us but only recently found it when clearing out my mums house, been at the back of a cupboard for 50 years. Tape player still worked as well, but what a business threading the leading edge through the machine all the time. You could also speed up tracks as well, which we used to do to lots of Motown to play at 100mph not 80 (we were young then). Although not necessary in the case of the Superlatives.

The multicoloured label copies are a bit of a fuzzy recording and not as clear!

Yes agree. The strings are just magical still hard to believe how good it is and the Casino went mad for it. I recall going to Russ's shop in Wigan to buy it as soon as it came out on Grapevine.

It's always included on my car playlist and play it at home. Love it.

Rod shard used to have an acetate on the wall at his stall, told me it was the vocal, I bit,  ' is it?' rod, I was young and daft. Nevertheless, the instrumental still hits the spot everytime. Always wanted a demo, if anyone has one?

this is a really cool 45, bought mine after hearing it on a CD swap from Jumpin Joan on here, but alas I sold it which is crap cause I really liked the flip "I've Made Up My Mind", I know 'You Don't Know' is trendy, but the harmony side is an absolute killer, I guess that comes with age right
