GordonS
Looks a brilliant line-up ... for less than £70 (+accom). Don't think I'll get to see anyone nearly as good in Las Vegas the following week. G Link to comment
GordonS
Just had a look at the site and realised it's even cheaper. And you can still get flights on a Ryanair flying shed for 1p +taxes. Is the weekender held every year - might fancy going next year and maybe even drive (done Horwich to Hannover in a day each way and I speak enough German to get by). Link to comment

Guest mirja m
Hello Malayka, the team who organises the Baltic Soul Weekender is partly the same who did the Weekenders in Cologne (with Incognito and George/Gwen/Leah McCrae) and the Allnighters in Bielefeld in the late 80s and early 90s. They are trying to bring some Live Entertainment and a real Weekender feeling over to the fatherland. ;-) Until now, in Germany Weekenders were mainly 2 day parties with no accommodation offered. guests had to sort out their own accommodation, which in some cases led to pretty expensive weekends. So this will be the first weekender that will come close to the original english concept; with live music, djs and accommodation. (even a spa and a 24/7 kindergarden is incl.) Since Germany is not England, some German Mainstream artists were added to the line up to finance acts like Roy Ayers, Leroy Hutson and Ann Sexton. Ann Sexton for example does not get a single penny from her music, so the promoters try to give her some of the so deserved appreciation Ann was looking for in the 70s. Most of the other German Weekenders are musically very specific and at a very high level of quality music (you would usually not hear "hits" you would call "oldies"). Sadly most of the German audience is not on this high level so this is a project to cross bridges and attract more "normal" people to hear this great music. So for this first one there will be about 2000 people, which is good for a start. Let's hope many Soulies turn up, to make sure there will be the same muscial variety on the next ones.... I actually tried to conact you and someone got back to me too, but I stupidly deleted the email. Can you please contact me again? m.milsmann@gmx.de ;-) So c u on the dance floor soon....
