Yea, 1975 my first year. And I was consumed/blown away by the amphet and the scene. And right from the start I could never get to grips with friends and acquaintances who bent my ear on a protracted verbal about how the times were actually in decline.......thought how the fck can this be on the way down. But over the years I think I have understood their comments more and more. Of course the casino is the prime example, because within just two or three years many of the original fans had given up on the place completely. I stuck with it till the final death, but if I am honest, I would say that I wish I hadn't gone to the last two nights.

It is a beautifully illustrated and content rich book chronicaling 1975 that makes you go ...oh yeah.

Is it a good read Ken and does gives a realistic impression what was happening in the year in question and maybe things to come .

I am a avid reader of soul related books but this one has a small time frame and at £30 do not want to be disappointed there is loads of books out of here I could purchase but if this one is recommended by someone who has read it a purchase will be forthcoming .

Well, i'm not even 1/4 way through it...but i think it's worth every penny. Just to see Martin Buchan (photo) in one of the collages was worth it to bring back memories 🥲. In my view, it does give a good & fair impression of the scene/it's music/ and the general happening of 1975.

Thanks for the reply , would you please give a update when you have read the book so I can make a informed decision whether or not to purchase .

I have bought numerous books that set out on a good route but then seem to meander and run out of steam.

I would much appreciate your or anyone else who reads  the book to give a opinion on the book , hopefully it will be worth a purchase .

I'm at a slight disadvantage here as i haven't read the book. Tim has great knowlede and  posesses literary talent. However if he s suggesting that in 1975 60's soul started to mix with 70s  soul he is two years out.  This was happening at Blackpool Mecca in late 72 and throughout 73 where 60's, and rare and just released  70's soul was played every week to an appreceiated audience.
