Hi Nick....not like this one then???....lol 'DJ Copy - Not For Sale' is printed on my copy not hand written...could this be the Demo that sneaked out??? mines been in the collection for about twenty years, if my memory serves me correctly i paid about £70.00 for it then off 'Ady Pieace' i think, if you look closley you will see the name 'Chuck' written in red ink, i wonder if it was either 'Chuck's' copy or signed at a record hop for a fan...lol nice thought...dynamite record yet to have it's moment, if anything a little fast for today's more mature soul fan....lol

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I first heard this on a sales tape from John Manship in the early 80's (along with Tony Middleton - Spanish Maiden, Tommy Navarro, Wilson Picket, Cashmeres ), picked up the CB 45 off Richard Domar, think I paid a tenner for it.. sold it on then rebought it last year off ebay.. both were handwritten dj copies..paid about $75 for my last copy

it does show up on ebay, albeit, not very often. Have yet to hear this played out at a nighter, which sound great over a good sound system

From memory Manships site mentions that demo copy is handwritten on most, think Pat mentioned that most were but you're right Nick his copy for sale was printed (as is Marks) so obviously some out there.

Personally I couldnt care less which just somebody sell me a copy (apart from that cracked one mentioned  )please

Got mine off Rod Shard (Modernsoulsucks on here) from his stall in Aflecks Palace, must have been late 80s/early 90s Rod?? Mine's got the handwritten DJ on it AND the yellow promotional A4 sheet that looks like it was given away at the time to promote the record. Think it was about £40 then and if memory serves me right, Rod certainly had a small quantity? Rod??? Haven't seen it for sale much in recent years it has to be said....

I did have a small quantity but thanks to Viagra and those spam emails about increasing penis size I have no trouble in that department nowadays.

To be honest I had a few but can't remember now how many. Nor can I remember a promotional A4 sheet so I assume you've knocked that up with some kinda computer trickery to increase the value of your own copy.

Alright,I do have a vague recollection. Was it a written threat along the lines of

"Chuck Bridges - cross him at your peril!!"

Hope this has been of some help in estimating how many copies are out there. I'd guess 73.

Cheeky git Rod! I'll try and scan it tonight and post it up here. It came with the 45 from your stall and I presume all copies had the sheet?? It was a lovely yellow colour with spot red and black if I recall. Even I could have knocked something up less basic. My mate had one too, 74...

  • 12 years later...

I know this thread is old (like me) and I apologise if this has been covered before.

It "appears" to me that Chuck maybe the same guy out of Chuck Bridges and The L.A. Happening

There appears to be little about the band and Chuck, apart from the fact they were from San Francisco

Can anyone supply info please
