Post prices are £4 UK recorded / £9 UK special delivery / £6 airmail to EU (cheap items only) / £7 rest of the world (cheap items only) / £12 tracked & signed service outside the UK. Thanks, George Richard & The Nationals “Blow Wind” (D.P.G.) VG+ £800 Great northern / uptempo soul, backed by the Rocking Cavaliers. Rare, and apparently still quite obscure (not currently listed at Discogs, anyway), this seems to have only ever come up twice on the computer: once ruined, and once in VG eight years ago. (Has a few marks but plays well, light ringwear. B side is VG and has more ringwear.) Helene Smith “China Melody / What’s in the Lovin” (Deep City) VG++ £225 Powerful dark ballad, along with a solid funky northern side. (Very faint dish not affecting play, hard to see, visible just slightly when uptempo side is playing) Atmosfear “Xtra Special (Dry Mix) / (Wet Mix)” (Elite) VG++ £170 Disco/modern smasher with a gorgeous pilled-up vibe, hard on 7”. My preference is the Dry Mix, though some may prefer the slappier, elongated Wet Mix. (Small hole UK pressing) Wilson Pickett “Shameless” (EMI) VG++ £20 UK only 45 of this moody two step smash (Virtually M-, silver EMI sleeve is creased) IND “Into New Dimensions / Everybody Likes to Do It” (Erect) VG++ £30 Spacey stepper with lush high-reaching group vocals, soulful boogie flip. (Disc looks M- but has a very faint whisp of styrene ringwear. There’s also a dish warp only visible when boogie flip is playing) The Untouchables “Find A New Love / Standing There” (FAAP) VG £300 Funky northern barnstormer, with nice sweet soul flip. A VG copy recently sold for $800 on auction. (Warp, causing swoosh on A side before the music starts, then fine; some label wear at bottom of A side) 35th Street Gang “You’ve Got Charisma / The Boogie Man” (Guess) VG+ £250 Rare 70s funk from the band behind many a Norfolk session. (A bit more wear and a touch of ringwear on Boogie Man side) Wilson Williams “A Whole Lot to be Thankful For / Honey Rock” (How Big) strong VG £140 Excellent deep ballad, with uptempo soul side that will be the one for many. (Plays really well, light label wear and small number in pen on Whole side) Todd Action “Dance / instrumental” (K) VG- £650 Banging modern/boogie from Ohio that seems to remain quite rare. (A-side has some scratches; very slight warp not affecting play) Vandollen “Prayer With Doubt / Seeking” (King Bee) VG+ £50 Very odd, little-known synth gospel with a groove. Both sides have appeal. (Very faint lift not affecting play, and label mark on B side) Preacherman Isidore Womack – The Unlimited “I’ve Got Power in my Mind / Every Time I Think of You” (no label) strong VG £650 Unique “outsider” gospel funk. Remains rare. (A side has marks but plays great, clean label. B side has some light tics and a faint whisp of ringwear) The Royal Kings “Let’s Do the Tighten Up / It’s Got to be You” (Reverb) VG+ £30 Two uptempo 60s tracks from Roanoke VA. Soul Brothers Inc. “Tear Drops” (Salem) VG+ Sold Northern anthem of epic proportions. (A Bit of light ringwear, light wear, plays great; small and fairly discrete drill hole) Barbara Stant “(You’ve Got To) Try It Again / (I’ve Found Me A) Real Man” (Shiptown) VG++ £140 Classic 70s double sider. (Original copy in nice shape, virtually M-) Barbara Redd “I’ll Be All Alone / Dancing Teardrops” (SPQR) VG+ Sold Rollicking R’n’B sides (Has some groove wear, plays great. Tiny mark nap on Teardrops side; biro x on Alone side) Mighty Joe Young “Suffering Soul” (Webcor) VG++ £35 Driving minor key dancer (Nice clean copy, virtually M-) Edited August 10, 2023 by George M Link to comment Social source share
