Guest gendojones
if no-one else will grab the bull by the horns!! pretty good night all in all. numbers were down, which was a shame. didnt prevent a lot of quality soul music from being played. my favourite sets were from bob hinsley and gaz simon, although i enjoyed hearing stuff i've never heard before from jumpin joan, karl and the rest (sorry i havent named you!!). thanks to steve and liana and everyone else involved owain Link to comment
Guest billinghamsoulboy
yep another fantastic night at piercebridge, was there another big soul night on locally as numbers were lower than normal, but still brilliant night, once again enjoyed the modern room, not like me, i normally stuck in 60s soul. I was chatting to a wedding party that were staying in the hotel & came for an hour or 2 at the end. They loved every minute of it & wanted to know what was on near them (Hertfordshire). Mind you after sitting with my other half for 2 hours after the do, they might be having second thoughts Link to comment
Guest espo
Thanks for the comments you lot Musically i thought last sat was spot on. Top tunes played by everyone from the start right up to Steve Davidsons last hour ( exactly what was needed Steve well done---people still dancing at 3 mins to 3) numbers were down but that was to be expected with some of the more regular ones d.j.ing other places--Frobishers last night ( Heard it was a belter---good to go out with a bang) etc. Still over 100+ through the door with some new faces hopefully will be back. Top spot has to go to Bob Hinsley--outstanding i thought---absolute master behind the decks---then in to the modern room to pack the floor in there as well---brilliant. The sound system in the big room was perfect(big weight off my mind)---not one glitch/feedback/re-verb all night---in fact i had to turn it down it was too loud---someone over the road complained about her windows rattling. As for the modern room---when i managed to get in there --i thought Liana and the D.J.s got it just right---very soulfull---be nice to have some comments from those that were in there all night. so all in all i was well pleased with the way it went----another 10--20 through the door would have given it that bit extra but i never thought we,d be packed to the rafters every time. Great to see Paul Stead out and about ---and to finish the night in the company of Steve and Lou---Festa and Jan ( cant stop laughing) Bit of a break now after our first two---time for a think on how to make it even better--and back on 9 June Thanks to all who made the effort Steve Link to comment
Jumpinjoan
Had a great time on Saturday... then again... i defy anyone not to enjoy themselves in such brilliant company! To be with Kev.. Gaz.. Baz.. and even Pete tonight... is like coming home to me... just fab fab people! Got there later than we would have liked... but at least that meant you didn't have a heart attack Steve. Hate missing a minute... especially when you know you're bound to have heard some incredible tunes. Anyway... Karl had just started his set when we arrived... such enthusiasm... a great thing to see. It was me next.. and i have to say... i REALLY enjoyed my spot. Thanks to everyone for their requests.. i think i played everything i was asked for... and thanks also to all who came up enquiring about stuff... kind of makes it all worth while. Nice to see Steve Davidson again too... its been a while. If you haven't been to Piercebridge yet... give it a go.... it is one fantastic venue.. could have been built with soul nites in mind.. its perfect... and i agree Steve.. the sound system was great. Yes there were a few faces missing... but the ones that were there had huge smiles on them... which says everything to me. That's about it from me... except to say.. Kev J... for the flowers and the overhead kicking of the balloon... i thank you Link to comment

Guest espo
Never be a N/Soul classic---the appeal of this --to me --is the Tempo--how it builds up Played at the right time of night--with the right tunes either side of it---sounds great and went down well----with the volume and the bass cranked up a bit --a very athmospheric tune imo Link to comment
