Kent Soul Club With Dave Rimmer 28th April

This months guests Dave Rimmer and Big Mark (soul smugglers) are joining Bearsy, Bunny and myself for another night of super soul on 28th of April.

Posted this up a bit early as going away for a week-all the arrangements are made, we just need a bed for Mr Rimmer!

Cant wait for this night as it will be my first night out for a month and hopefully the leg will be a lot less painful too,

the venue is superb and is an old theartre with great decor, the DJs are up on the big stage to the front of the dance floor, it has a lovely great big wooden dance floor with loads of seating around the outside of the dance floor and an area to chill out away from the music to chat with friends or whatever else you may want to do , the toilets are first class for both men and women and a very well stocked bar for all you who like to drink (i reccomend the flaming sambukas £2 a shot), there is parking in the streets surrounding the venue and a car park or 2 very close by within a couple of minutes walk, Rochester train station is a 3 minute walk if you walk slow from the venue and is a a direct link from London Victoria, the journey from London is about 40 minutes,

doors open at 8pm and the last record played will be at 2am, so get yourselfs down for six hours of accross the board soul at the princely of a fiver (£5).

Coming from London or from M25-follow A2 DOVER until you see signs for M2 DOVER-don't go on the M2 but follow signs for A2, down through Strood and over Rochester Bridge.

Star Hill is part of the A2 through the Medway towns. Just after the bridge there is a dual carriageway which passes two large car parks (one either side), and The Casino Rooms on your right. At the next set of lights Barclays Bank is on the right, and you should see The Star pub up on the left ,and The Royal Function Rooms are opposite. But turn left or right before you go up the hill for parking.

Coming from the other direction, i.e. anywhere else in Kent you'll probably have more idea where it is. If you find Star Hill ,The Star pub is lit up like a beacon, and The Royal is Opposite.

Really looking forward to meeting up with Dave Rimmer, especially after the cd swap on another forum.All in all I reckon it will be a cracking night.

Mark my dear friend, time and tide waits for no man, it may take a while but when i finally get back on that dance floor next year i will certainly make up for it, so the more i get taunted the more i shall enjoy my return to the floor, thing is im going to struggle to not dance behind the decks myself

I am really looking forward to this as i have a feeling its going to be some night of soul and a night for Kent to remember.

Im glad i made it on Saturday Ian as it was great to get out of the house for the first time in 3 weeks albeit on crutches but it was worth it as i had a great time and a good laugh through the night too with some very nice tunes spun too, spinning on crutches is easy too

its got me in the mood for THIS Saturday now as im already starting to sort out some tunes i want to play that i aint spun at the Kent Soul Club yet.

I never plan spots before hand, just listen to what has already been played, what was popular, what cleared the floor etc, and take it from there.

Possibly save you the PM, I should be arriving at Rochester station at 19:14, assuming the trains run on time.
