Boomerang" - Canal Tavern, Thorne

Recommended Posts

What another cracking nite - very different to the first one, but was just as good. Very relaxed atmosphere - so chilled kept being asked if I was ok , as was laid out in comfort on two chairs  Musically not my taste for dancing but great lounge music - though plenty dancing. Great laughs and interesting conversations all night. Brilliant crowd - great work Maria and Karen (good packaging) Nat is that your name  Sue about your texting - words fail me whistling.gif

Made a refreshing change

Looking forward to the next one....

Karen

Another great night at The Tavern , seemed to be less 60's played last night than last time but still quality music all night from all 4 DJ's :thumbsup: TUNES !!

Great entertainment from Tats Taylor, he certainly knows how to get people off their butts both with actions and music, Superb Stuff !! thumbsup.gif

Looking forward to the August one with Sam and Andy Whitmore , understand it may be an earlier start , can anyone confirm that ?

Spot , hope you are feeling better mate, this thread won't be the same without your epic account.

Thanks again to Karen, Maria and Arthur for bringing quality soul to Doncaster.

See you all soon

Paul & Sue :D:ohmy: & Elaine (Bout time you made yourself a member of SS Laney)

As the song says, "I`m back, I`m back, I`m on the right track, As a matter of fact I`m back". So thanks to all for the kind words & get well wishes(NO it was not Man Flu) as I know my public need me. (Fingers down throat & vomit)

So it`s onward & upward to Middleton Anniversary to join in the jollity & lunacy again after returning from the brink. So I shall be joining the "BIG MAC" & friends till the early hours of Sunday as I shall be back to full fitness by then. :(

Although I only managed 50 minutes at "Boomerang" on Saturday & a good portion of the first 15 was trying to find a stylus (We were in early as it was pistoling it down, Ta Karen) the music was as I expected "Superb" & the company excellent. :wicked:

So well done to Arthur,Maria O & Karen (plus your fella K, I forget his name, shame on me!!) keep up the good work, a full report next time & I hope nobody sue`s you (The cheek)

Take care & be safe,

Spot. :shades:

Glad you're feeling OK Pete.

Gail's doesn't have a great deal of time for sick blokes does she

When will women learn that because of our superior strength it's only the really big bugs that get us

You're right it was a gud'un. We're checking out rooms for the August one - no way I'm going without a drink for 9 hours.

Glad to hear you're ok - I thought you left due to what I was playing!

So much for early doors. I blame the others who made me enjoy my fillet steak in the dining room with them, instead of running round the venue with a fork like I wanted :D . Hence, my panic as I couldn't find my equipment early on

We're really pleased to hear that people enjoyed the night. We knew the Gary, Tats and Arthur would deliver the goods and I heard some great tunes new to my ears which buzzed me. A BIG THANK YOU to our guest DJs, who were obviously moved to be back behind the decks at the Canal Tavern. I'm still chasing their playlists, so visit back here soon - I'll post them up and you can hum through them.

We're also pleased many of you noticed our efforts to keep things fresh and do something a bit different (whilst keeping to our music policy). The next one is on 4th August and we're trying to make that one special with an early start - but we're STILL TO CONFIRM that in the next week.

I'll get the website updated this week with the photos and I'm just of to seek inspiration for the next flyer.

One last thing - MANY THANKS again to PETE BURKE, who is the real third Musketeer with us gals. A thanks also goes to to Arthur who still refuses to get involved ...until we give him some jobs on the night :D .

We had another top night of fun and frivolity. Great tunes, great company, picked up a couple of album 'wants' (cheers Arthur) and made some new mates in Dave F & Simon back at t'hotel. Even managed not to fall over! (either of us!). What more can you want! (Apart from the Tony Aitkin & future 2000 7" that I've been after for ages and thought was dog rare until Dave said 'Oh i've got one of those' then Simon said 'Oh me too'!! I must get out more!) :( Good to meet you lads, see you at the hotel next time too!

Well done Kazza, Maria, Pete. Top tunage all night. Roll on the next 1!

We are currently at the Frankfurt Weekender and I have shown Karen (my partner in crime) these posts. The rest is from her....

Thank you to all our guests (playing and paying) from the first two nights. I hope we will all enjoy together the future dates we plan, as those of you who know me personally - know that first and foremost, this is a party for any and all who want to join me. However, my fabulous friend and partner (not Pete, the other one), berates me for not taking things seriously.

As Dee Dee Sharp sings: - You´ve Touched My Life!

I´m now going on to enjoy the final leg of the fabulous Frankurt Weekender and will no doubt continue to talk bollocks to poor unsuspecting Europeans

Regards,

Karen Burke
