Any suggestions for 'well known or not so well known' stores worth checking out in the vicinity? Anyone been round that area recently - places to avoid, rip off merchants etc? Does anyone know if they still sell Goldmine in London West End HMV, Virgin? I tried their website but the last time I looked it didn't give out recent information (which is understandable) That's a decent list of shops. Appreciate that. I have been to LA a couple of times before but it was a while ago. I often find that the shops are there one minute and gone the next. I also have an ancient guide (1990/91) to all record dealers in the US does anyone know if this was ever updated? Assume everyone else is keeping quite about prefered shops?? Pau link If you wanna come hang out in Bakersfield, let me know. We have a burgeoning soul scene here, but it still needs some work. There are handful of us that are KTF %100. We'll give you the best record shopping tour you can find. If you want to DJ we have a place every weekend to spin at. Bakersfield is only 1 and 1/2 hours from L.A. so it's not that far. On a buying point(if it is still there) Novotnoys antiques in Glendale,there used to be an upstairs room full of records,worth a try if only a phone call?
