harpo1 Posted June 9, 2007 Share Posted June 9, 2007 What a stunning night....thanks to all who came 250+ car park street and adjacent pub car park overflowing......far better than we could have ever imagined Lots of the original faces in attendance Thanks to: 1/ Max and Gary for letting us use there regular event 2/ All the original dj's Chris Mick and Neil for supporting me and playing great spots on the night 3/ Tim and Dave for helping me out with their tunes 4/ Last but not least all of you who turned up in droves fom all points N S E & W IT WAS YOU WHO MADE IT A NIGHT TO REMEMBER My Tunes 1/ linda jones just can't live my life 2/ johnny bristol love no longer has a hold on me 3/ jimmy mc farland lonley lover 4/ darrow fletcher what good am i without you 5/ deon jackson thats wehat you do to me 6/ metros since i found my baby 7/ cody black going going gone 8/ spyder turner i cant make it anymore 9/ new younghearts a little togetherness 10/ silky hargreaves keep loving me like you do 11/ larry atkins lighten up baby 12/ charles johnson never had a love so good 13/ bobby thurston just ask me 14/ king tutt you got me hung up 15/ zz and company getting ready for the get down 16/ prince phillip mitchell im so happy 17/ major harris call me tomorrow 18/ darrell banks i'm the one who loves you thanks to you all Harpo xx see you in 5 years time!!! ??? I am not that keen on revivals normally but this was brilliant, what shook me was looking at the playlists from the Cavendish all those years ago, some amazing stuff and all on original labels.It really was a very special venue and it happened in the 80's when Rare Soul was supposed to be dead and buried! Talking of long gone great West Midland Soul venues.look out for the 2nd annual Catacombs reunion on Saturday July 14 at Soulvation @ Lea Hall Club, Rugeley.Like I say revivals not normally my cup of tea but the Ist Catacombs reunion @ Soulvation last year created one of the best atmosphere's I have ever known at any club anywhere. And this year the legend that it is Carl Dene has been added to the bill, Carl was one of the main men at The Cats from 68 to 70 (he was doing the Sunday afternoon sessions at Chateau Impneyin Droitwich at the same time) and he is one of the pioneers of Rhythm'n'Soul and an all round top bloke - in fact the only thing wrong with him is that he supports Aston Villa!
