New Mod Event Manchester, Get Involved

Hi everyone

This month will be the 4th VERTIGO night we have done at the Attic club in Manchester.

Very different to other events out there it brings together DJs, collectors and faces from the 60s Soul scene, from Beat to R"n'B , early Northern soul fans to Ska DJs.

The crowd is then treated to hear the best of everyones collections. DJ sets are kept short with the emphasis on socializing and dancing.

This months VERTIGO is on Saturday 28th July and we are looking for a few new people to come down and join the regular DJs, no pressure just a 30mins set of your choice.

We are attracting a pretty diverse crowd at the moment with no snobbery and one thing in common, a love of 1960s music & style so if you fancy joining us this month please drop us a line asap.

(we would love to hear from you & get you on the flyers which will be going to print soon).

Big thank you for all the messages of support and looking forward to hearing some of your collections at the night.

News just in is that we have secured the whole of the venue once a month on a Friday night from Sept 28th, that's the Thirsty Scholar bar, Attic Club & outside under cover smokers decking for a last friday of the month big bash.

This will give us 600 capacity and we intend to make it a free event too!

All very exciting for us.

More info on all this soon but please keep the messages coming if you are a Northwest Mod looking to get involved

Cheers

Bit of a shame we clash with the Mod weekender this month but "thems the brakes" and we were tied to doing the date by the venue as its a regular event. Still we have a fair few regulars of our own and as some will only be at the Waldorf on Friday and coming to us on the Saturday it should be a good night.

The move to Last Friday of the month on Sept will be great for all as we will not clash with anyone any more and have got some exciting stuff lined up.

Venue is like a classic R'n'B club, you go in up a spiral staircase above the Thirsty Scholar pub (don't be put off by the rock music belting out of the pub, Sat is rock night in there)

Attic is the space above the pub under a railway arch. You can park outside on the cobbles or anywhere around the back, it's free after 6pm all night.

The club holds about 200 with the best soundsystem you will have heard in soul club.

Licensed till 3am and 4am if we want it.

Also there is a smokers outside area under the arch where you can nip out with a hand stamp, this is a rare bonus these days.

Hi Lee,not been before,so what's the venue like,car parking etc,cheers,John Elias.

Great so many new people have got in touch about coming down to this one, many traveling from as far away as South coast too.

Big thank you to you all & looking forward to seeing you all on the night!

Was hoping to get up to this one and spin a few, but unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to make it.

Gutted, because it looks like it's gonna be a top night.

Will definately be at the next one
