Lee Bates - What Am I Gonna Do - Instant/ix Chains

Recommended Posts

Are they exactly the same recording?

Was Instant the "local" release and IX Chains put out for a larger distribution?

Steve Plumb, commented on the record when he wrote the IX Chains discography in Voices, but I cant find that edition at the moment.

Cheers,

John

What is the flip of the lee bates, I only have it as a promo. I'd love to get ahold of the ix chains discography, is it online or can I get it somehow? Thanks.

The flip on both the "Instant" and "IX Chains" releases is Your Love Is Slipping Away.

This is one of the reasons I've posted the question, it just seems too coincidental that both sides of each disc are the same as each other, but on different labels for them to be different recordings.

If someone doesn't do it before me, I'll do some digging and find the copy of voices the discography was in.

Well i didn't know lee did it on instant as well as ix chains, i knew about the ix chains and that he later did it on ichiban in the 80's ( a better version imho which doesn't happen alot a 80's better than a 70's)

I only knew about why don't you write etc on instant, well you live and learn

Thanks John

Bob,

The flip of 402 is "I heard my own voice". The flip of 7007 is "Seven day lover (instrumental)".

No details for 7008.

Andy, I agree the Ichiban version is better IMO too and one I've still to get. Sadly I was oblivious to too many new releases at the time (my loss and have paid the price for that recently).

One thing that I've never actually seen, is an issue of the IX Chains release. I don't own one, as I've been waiting to see an issue for sale.
