Richard Searling 79 - New Wigan Podcast

Recommended Posts

As requested, I've dug some more Wigan tapes out and will post a few up in the next day or two, this first one is a Richard Searling spot from 79, only about 35 minutes but there's some excellent tracks and you can see the quality starting to come back after what was in retrospect a very dodgy 1978 as far as quality new discoveries went.

I've had to register on my podcast.com incognito as they banned me last time so please ignore the fluffy pink background

Thanks for posting that .............er anymore from that time ?

Yes loads but that was all I had chance to do last night sorry - all sorts of converting I have to do so it takes a while to get it recorded, prepared and published. I'll do the second half of that night though.

Maybe try downloading it instead of playing it, that might work - right click, save as...just checked it again and it does seem to be working ok

Hey Pete what did you actually do when he played Ike Strong , Omni etc , did you leave the dancefloor ?

I wasn't going then Simon so I can't answer but I spent the last year of my Wigan attendance just verballing and never dancing anyway so it wouldn't have made any odds...

Thats Liberty "Girl you better wake up" on BASF. Sounds fantastic - the vocal on the a side is as bad as the instrumental is good

Cheers Pete,it was one of those moments when after all these years a sound from the past hits you right between the eyes but you never new what it was called -puts you right back there as a sweaty pilled up 16 year old again with all your mates for a split second
