Steve L
Had this on a tape for about 15 years ( Andy Dyson sales tape ) and always thought it was a great record. When I got JMs 1/2 price list through I thought I'd snap one up. Anyway usual question from me on records like this that I've known about for a while but never heard played out ( cant recall seeing it on many playlists either ) Anyone out there ever played it out, have you got it, do you rate it?? etc etc Link to comment Social source share

It's a great Curtis Mayfield/Impressions soundlike and should be played everywhere IMO! Link to comment Social source share
pikeys dog
Had one a couple of years ago and thought it was average at best - went straight in the sales box.... Link to comment Social source share

Ady Croasdell
thanks, clearly an impressions reference given the "you must believe me" chorus. Sounds like a white guy, though (even more so in the other Henry Strogin clip that's on refosoul). This one is much better than the other cut. He was a black doo-wop singer with the Crowns and did several projects in LA usually for Ruth Dolphin's Money and associated labels. This track and more info on his tragic death on CDKEND 267, The Soul Of Money Vol 2. Link to comment Social source share
