For those considering doing the 2nd Paris Northern Soul allnighter on 19th March here are some further details around venue location and accommodation.

post-1759-1110220359_thumb.jpg

The venue is located on top of Montmartre Hill (a major tourist site, near Moulin Rouge, Sacr-Coeur, etc, etc), it is only a very quick ride to the department stores (Galeries Lafayette / Printemps) and from Gare du Nord Station for who travels on Eurostar.

I cannot recommend any particular hotel, but there are hundreds around Montmartre, at various prices.

I've booked a room for another DJ from London in this hotel:https://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/fichehotel/gb/ibi/0697/fiche_hotel.shtml it is clean and comfy, not too expensive, 10' walk from the venue.

Here are a couple of links that can be helpfull:

- Paris tourist information: https://www.parisinfo.com/en/

- info on Montmartre district:

- maps and public transportation:

Last one was excellent. See u there.

seriously considering this - no football that weekend.

who needs an hotel as well - mid-day train there, a few drinkies in the afternoon, followed by Oysters @ La Coupola over Montparnasse way pre-nighter, then snooze back on the train.

you can ram your Wright's Pies, it's gay Paree for me!! whistling.gif

i just love the globalisation of soul music - a mate reckons the Pisa doo was the dogs whistling.gif

Scotty - You know the score.

The hotel was for the lets make a w/e out of this brigade (myself included wth missus and kids in toe).

The Metro man option sounds good and with the Eurostar, it's cheaper than going to Manchester by train and probably quicker, given wrong snow on the line.

The guest DJ Giles Petard is also a bit of a legend in France. He's old mates with Berry Gordy as a former rep for Motown France and used to go out with Patti Austin apparently. The guys in Paris keep on turning up some top notch tunes.

Good food, bad french, excellent music, blisters, sore head, no sleep (again), beer, whiskey, wine and wife - that'll be the 2nd Paris allnighter then.

What a venue - Dance floor was excellent. Sound system good. 250+ from across France, UK, Italy, Germany and probably some other countries I haven't heard of. Most out on the floor and still going stong until we took the vista from Sacre Couer just after 5 - what a view, what a night.

Thanks to Stephane, Lord Julian and all the Paris crew for a superb weekend.

Here is my playlist for the Friday and Saturday nights;

Soul City Friday 18th March

1. Jesse and James - Move

2. Roy Lee Johnson - Boogaloo No. 3

3. Otis Redding & Carla Thomas - Ooh Carla, Ooh Otis

4. Jimmy Hughes - It ain't what you got

5. Buddy Ace - It's gonna be me

6. Albert Washington - I'm the Man

7. Betty Harris - Trouble with my lover

8. Jackie Wilson - I've lost you

10. Big Daddy Rogers - I'm a big man

15. Lorraine Chandler - What can I do

16. Cindy Lynn - Meet me at midnight

17. Apollas - Mr Creator

18. Jack Montgomery - Baby, baby take a chance on me

19. Dee Dee Warwick - Worth every tear I cry

20. Dee Dee Sharp - What kind of lady

2nd Paris allnighter 19th March

1. Dobie Gray - Out on the floor

2. Bobby Garrett - I can't get away

3. Tobi Lark - Sweep it out of the shed

4. Bernard Williams - Focused on you

5. Patti Austin - (I've given) all my love

13. Patti Austin - Take away the pain stain

14. Jackie Day - Darkest Days

15. Bobby Sheen - Dr Love

16. Irma Thomas - What are you trying to do

Don't forget myself, Trafford, Frankie and Mr Mischief will be entertaining the east end massive at 02, 51 Bethnal Green Road, 9pm - late with a challenging mix of Nothern, Modern, Crossover & Funk.

Cracking basement venue - good dance floor and PA (will be making sure you can hear the records, unlike some other venues I could speak of). Please support us to get this one off the ground.

Cheers,
