Can 2005

Recommended Posts

Competition ain't nothing are back in action. Scouring the funky four corners of the capital to find the bestest venues and soundest systems to play the funkiest, Northernist mix of Northern and Funk in town.

As always we will be aiming to push boundaries - bringing new guest DJs, attracting fresh blood into quality rare Soul and Funk, riding our Lambrettas when ever we CAN.

Therefore it is with the greatest of pleasure that I introduce our new series 3 end of month sessions in the basement at Bar O2 in Bethnal Green Road (opposite Brick Lane Bagel shops)

Starting Good Friday 27th March.

Established DJ lined up tbc, but new and upcoming DJ talent such as Tef and Frankie to be featured.

The venue can take 200+, and has all wooden basement dancefloor used for dance lessons.

Watch this space for further details. Should be a new once a month corker!

*** New Guest DJs Wanted ***

Have you been quitely collecting for a number of years? think you have good taste in rare soul or funk? think you can get the dance floor moving? never done a spot before? Now could be your chance. If you have what it takes to be a DJ we would like to hear from you. Old hands need not apply (you'll get your chance).

Any takers for guest spots?

Worth giving it a go now before our first series of nights get booked up.

As most people who have turned up to a CAN gig know, we normally get the most professional and respected DJs on Northern, Funk and Crossover scenes.

If you fancy a guest spot alongside the likes of Keb, Snowboy, Eddie Piller, Brian Rae, etc etc then now is a chance to put yourself forward and have a go.

Remember we all started somewhere. Would be good to see some more girls as well as the lads coming forward.
