Boogaloo
Boogaloo review and playlist Well, what an eventful night: speakers almost blew up, a girlie tiff (or rather punchup) on the dancefloor, had to kick out a few tourists and I ran out of fags. And you thought Prestatyn was lively. First RnB night (of many in the future) and nice to see a very decent turnout considering my Boogaloo boys and girls like their staple of oldies and goldies. Good thing was that the djs (Carmen McCulough, Chris Dale, Anton Mick Moylan and myself) played some fantastic sounds, some very nice obscurities and the dancefloor didn't empty as I feared it might with nearly 3 hours of RnB. Got as many compliments for the sounds as I got moans but the regulars got their oldies at the end of the night so they went away happy. Carmen thought me brave to run a night like this but its my club, my hobby and my passion (and what's the point of life without risk, eh). Some of my plays are listed below plus Carmen's and Mick's (as they sent them to me). Some of you will have seen these already if you subscribe to Carm's list but I'm posting this on other sites so sorry for the repetition. Anyway, Looking forward to this Saturday 12th as its Motown, Motown, Motown all the way. Can't wait. Guest
Apart from the fighting and the tourist, it sounds great. I'll try and make it along to one soon. Link to comment
Guest Trifle
Warren.... I did post up elsewhere how good a night it was... and there are photos on the gallery (cue vision on music). Hey BO... the fighting was over in seconds, believe me... and had no affect on enjoyment for the rest of the evening. And they weren't tourists... they were budding soulies who didn't yet understand the rules. When's the next one anyway? Will need another RnB fix before long. Also, well done Warren for posting up an interesting and honest account. Get fed up reading the candy-coated reviews. Link to comment
