i'm sure this has been discussed before.....but i cant find the thread......is the consensus that the later one ( 71/72 reissue..?.) is kosher...but the price guide price is for the earlier one?......or doesnt it matter....Ta....

#73393 first press 1968 the original one.

2nd. Press 1971 Delta # 85897 this press was available in the UK from selecta disc Nottm. @ the time.

First 1968 press is pretty elusive.

would you price the two differently then John?

absolutely 1971 is a second press but still realises £100 in mint - cond.

the original 1968 possibly £50 more...

the 1968 copy as a white demo i consider a "prize"

let's face it, it is a superb record which ever copy you own

I've got a 'prize' + a very nice '71 copy for sale. Any offers?

(The 'prize' is not for sale, just in case of confusion!)

Hi John

In your opinion, is the 1971 2nd 'monarch #85897 ' press a legal ABC repress? (presumably for the UK market cos of it's popularity at the time?)

It'd be a bugger if it turned out to be a boot after all this time!

Cheers

No, they are real company press by ABC, they also issued the Orlons-Once Upon A Time on styrene at the same time-ish 1972. If you think about, how often do you see the ORIGINAL 1967 Orlons press on VINYL! Pretty rare that one..

Both Jackie Lee & the Orlons were available at Selcta-disc during the early 70s.

Like this one John....lol Delta #73393 1968 White Demo....At last 'Bicknell' has a 'prize' record...lol on a more serious note, matters very little which 'press' you have this record on.....simply stunning, classic, pure class.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.
