How Many And.....which Is The Best

Recommended Posts

I can't think of another off top of me head (is there one?) apart from Garnett Mimms lp track. Played it out a few times, great record.

How did it go down Chalky? I've never heard it played out, always sounds a bit difficult to dance to.

I don't know another version either.

I have another version, better than LP as on 45, Junco Partners, Columbia DB 7665, and it's darn good. Manship had one last time I looked, mine came from Nick at Intoxica awhiles back. Funnily they've reunited so maybe you can even see them do it live! The Detroit Cobras covered it more recently too. There's a song by the same title from back then by the Boston Crabs, is on a New Rubble comp but haven't heard, may be another........

I've got a Junco Partners for sale on Ebay which finishes today complete with soundclip.

I think its pretty rare on UK Columbia , Manship currently has one for £100.00 but knowing my luck it will fetch just 4.99.

if you want to hear the truly awful version go to you tube and type in:

detroit cobras magic stick born of darkness thmbdn.gif

off of thier album 'tried & true'

and just in case you would like to sing along cool.gif

Born in darkness

but I fought my way up to the sun

Had a lot of battles

some I lost and some I've won

But let me tell you, girl

you ain't seen nothing yet

There's nothing in this world

that I can't get

As long as I have you (long as I have you)

Long as I have (long as I have you) you

As long as I have you

Give me mountains to crumble

and I'll turn them to sand

Let me put this world

in the palm of your hand

Find some teardrops

but I sang my way out of the blues

Had to learn to stand up

even when they scared me out of my shoes

But let me tell you, girl

you ain't seen nothing yet

There's nothing in this world

that I can't get

As long as I have you (long as I have you)

Long as I have you (long as I have you)

As long as I have you

Give me mountains to crumble

and I'll turn them to sand

Let me put this world

in the palm of your hand

Say you love me

and I know that half the battle is won

Don't cha worry about nothing

in your mind the best is yet to come

But let me tell you, girl

you ain't seen nothing yet

There's nothing in this world

that I can't get

As long as I have you (long as I have you)

Long as I have you (long as I have you)

Every thing's gonna be alright (long as I have you)

And I won't have to cry no more (long as I have you)

All my troubles will be over (long as I have you)
