These were often done by sign writers in the 70s... real works of art... no cut and paste and run off 100 copies on the laser printer.

I've got a 1976 Samanthas Allnighter poster framed up and it looks the mutts nuts.

I've still got my Pier anniversary, Wakefield Unity and signed Ritz Ric-Tic revue posters might have to dig them out of storage. I think I will leave the dreadful Casino one in the loft though biggrin.gif

It is Cressa Steve and there's also Martha Starr, same artist if you ask me and virtually same song except for a break in one.

Ward Burton, dunno why the price questioned? damn rare record and worth it IMHO.

Is the Cresa Watson unreleased Chalky?

Martha Starr- wasn't it on Charay? I saw Clarky's copy once fleetingly.

Butch's old Tobi Lark C/U, miles better than Ward Burton which should've been used for clay pigeon shooting.

Funny comment but ironically most of the copies of Tommy Ridgeley on international City WERE actually used for target practice - strange but true!

Hi Boba, as there`s only one Detroit Group record included so of course its the Grand Prix`s I am on about....joke, of course I missed quoting in my initial posting mate

Marc

I thought that was the one you were talking about but wasn't sure because Lew Stanley had one he kept trying to move on ebay for like $499 starting bid and never got bids on it (he might have sold it eventually).

The Cressa Watson slipped out on an Ace LP in the early 80's. Think it might have been called 20 R&B Greats.

Its not called that Pete, its something like 20 Undiscovered/Unearthed Northern Soul Records

fookin daft title anyway, my missus bought me a copy one Christmas years ago  Honest

If Tony Parker reads this thread, me and him had a conversation about the said same record years ago at Bretby, Id never heard the tune until I got this LP and gave it a blast, which was how I was able to tell Tony its was Clarrisa Watson, its in the loft somewhere now, good tune though

Connie Clark : My Sugar Baby Joker £679 :ohmy: mind boggling sum, who pays these prices

 I put a copy of Barnaby Bye on ebay a couple of years ago for couple of quid

looked on my site one morning and noticed a : Question from etc, it read

"This record should be hung from a tree and shot, and is one of the main reason I stopped going to Wigan and Northern soul doo"s "

:lol::lol:

I thought fookin hell, who"s upset him

needless to say he did not purchase the said item

Why ?

The distributor who had 2,000 copies couldn't shift them so he used the vast majority (over 1800 copies apparantly) as target practice for his kids to practice with their Loo-ee-sea-Anna air guns. You couldn't make it up if you tried Mark - that is a bona fide story and explains why it's a hard record.

No, it's called: "20 Great Unknown Soul Classics of The 60's & 70's".

Released on an ACE subsiduary called CASCADE with catalogue number DROP 1013.

Wow, indeed. What a shocking and yet so possible story in the world of Rare Soul records. And you are right, that could explain the records raritry

WTF happened with the dolly gilmore?

i saw it was £450 with over a day to go and so didn't pay any further attention cos it seemed it was likely to close about £550 again

when i was tidying up my pc saw it had closed for about £300 - i would have gone higher than that

how could that happen? surely at least two people must have bidded it up to £450?

"WTF happened with the dolly gilmore?"

A bidder bid £15,100 he meant to bid £151.

Our website hosts changed the bid to £151 after we recieved a frantic e-mail from him. We immediately explained an "error" bid had been made and removed at the end of the write-up of the record.
