"I Can´t Turn Around" proved a popular song as time moved on, especially as it was remixed, reworked/covered as mentioned above. But when it was first released on the LP Chocolate Chip it was tucked away as the very last track on the LP, and not really a big tune, so don´t think it was released as a 45 back in the day, but not entirely sure.

Cheers

Love this record :) "borrowed" by Farly "Jackmaster" Funk for his "Love Can't Turn Around" with Daryll Pandy

Sorry don't know if it got a 45 release

Cheers Paul

PS Really liking 'After The Storm Is Over" by Ike at the mo' from his "Juicy Fruit (The Disco Freak)" LP

Paul, never really liked Daryll Pandy's house re-working of it, I thinked it lacked the warm , soulful touch of Ike's original.

And now that the "in-vogue" sound of the northern scene at the moment is uptempo, busy (slightly) funky 70's tunes, I think Ike's original could become a popular northern record.

OK , where are the UK label specialists ?

Maybe there's a Demo on UK ABC (which distributed Hot Buttered Soul ) ???

Nope, no such luck. Pretty sure it's album-only in both the UK and US.

Great tune though (see attached).

The reason why it became a House anthem is because it was huge on Chicago black radio back in the 70's and all the House kids heard it growing up! I talked at length about this with Marshall Jefferson and he told me that "I Can't Turn Around" was a Chicago radio 'staple' in the 70's and that's why House music appropriated the rhythm arrangement and most of the song.
