Funky Si Posted May 29, 2008 Share Posted May 29, 2008 Jimmy McGriff died last Saturday of multiple sclerosis. There's a great page on the man at Jimmy McGriff on Wikipedia. I thought it might be appropriate to pay tribute to him through a Hammond thread - not just Jimmy, but anyone playing in his style. He is brilliantly described on wikipedia as "a fiery blues-based organist, well-versed in gospel soul and fatback groove."
