Guest Posted August 29, 2008 Share Posted August 29, 2008 (edited) In the light of the upcoming WC revival / anniversary night to be held in the Station Road cafe arcade , it got me thinking ....... In respect of staging revivals / anniversaries etc . such as the above , on the site of where former glories were , I am contemplating doing a 35th " since it closed " anniversary of a venue , by hiring a car cark the venue once stood on , and erecting a marquee on it to house the revellers ......... In respect of the utilisation of the cafe and the arcade that houses it , can be accepted as de riguer ( " Backdrop and a riker baguette please " ) , I feel I may be onto a winner with this one ...... If I go ahead , I will have to source a horse whose owner is willing for it to be kept awake all night ......... As well as sedating the people across the road , some of whom still - after 35 years - bear a grudge ......... I am seriously contemplating doing this event : the only problem may lie in convincing the people acroos from the site , especially the old chap who collered me last year when I was taking photographs , who upon telling him what I was doing and why , replied " so you are one of those bastards who kept us awake all night " ....... Free pints (vouchers presented at the bar?) & a nice commemorative glass, beer festival style. It'd be extremely rude of them to turn you down. The place you have in mind (I think) is an entirely different egg, untainted by 'authoritative film documentaries' and corporate record labels pushing titles by artists with names like 'The All Night Band' (I shudder)...
