Enjoyed my debut last night , 1hr half double decking with Mrs T!

Great crowd to play to ,full floor for majority of the set, couple of gripes about the music but hay thats the beauty of Soulfusion , you can leave and go to another room if its not to your taste.

Agree with Neil , folks will always get to where they want to go , hats off to the guys and gals that battled their way through counties in some crappy weather but I think they were not dissappointed with another top night @ Soulfusion.

See you all soon.

Mart

Ps Photos being forwarded to Neil now!

It was my first visit to Soulfusion, definately not the last. I went along with my mate (brother in law) and we're already looking ahead to when we can go again.

Spent all night in the main hall, in which I must say is a fantastic venue (great bar with regards to staff/choice of beers/prices) just a 5 mins drive from the in-laws. Upon first arriving thought the weather would stop people attending, how wrong can you be?

I think it must have been Neil Self who played the tune of the night for me (Joe Simon  ).

Anyway thanks for a great night, hope to be attending again soon. :D

I know I'm biased, but what an excellent night again. Like others, I'd wondered if the weather would affect numbers, but no, another packer! Spent more time in the modern room, Lloydees 3-year retrospective set was outstanding, liked Neil Rushtons Temps remix (my nephew said "sounds like a Joey Negro mix to me" then Neil tells me it's Paul Simpson...), all three rooms still busy at the end, main room outstanding, still amazes first-timers...thanks for all the nice comments about my set, all I want is to see that dancefloor rockin', no politics, can't remember all I played but it included Jimmy Fraser, Shalimars, Clifford Binns, Joy Lovejoy (couldn't see a spare space on the floor to that!), Natural Four, Satisfactions, sandy Wynns, Vonettes etc. etc...

Roll on March! biggrin.gif

Who was it who said blokes can't do more than one thing at once, I'm currently listening to Jerry on the radio and he's only just posted this up.

Thanks once again jerry, what a turnout, one of our best nights both attendance wise and musically, we always seem to give the punters what they want.

and both of Neil's sets were just what our crowd are into, sign of a true professional DJ, manages to hit the right note in both rooms.

like you say roll on March 21st when we have SOUL SAM & JON FISHER guesting.

but before then I'm off to Chicago!!!!

best regards

Neil, as I said to you on saturday night, people really go for it, the venue is perfect in every way. it's amazing how quick it fills up, I remember we were talking at about 830 and it was quiet, but an hour later and the placed was rammed, glad there folks ready to dance even for your early set.

superb soulful house set by you by the way. you can see it's a proper modern room and not one where 70's northern gets played. that's down to our resident djs Steve lloyd & Ady Pountain. they have moulded that room into what it is.

You also did a superb set in the northern room and played a perfect set for our northern soul crowd, so thanks for that too. Hopefully we will see you in March.

best regards

Neil

No probs, I spoke to Nicci for a fleeting second , as for the UN ,our daughter-in-law got on the wrong end of a fracass and got pushed over and hurt her head and back! Fairplay to our 2 sons that were there, they came and got me instead of taking matters into their own hands ,maybe the 2 concerned could take a leaf out of their book and respect peoples venues and take their grievances elsewhere if must!

Anyway that aside twas another storming (excuse the weather reference pun) night @ Soulfusion.

Martyn & Sue,

really sorry to hear your daughter in law was caught up in the middle of the fracass. Needless to say both parties involved will not be welcome back to soulfusion. we have had three years of hassle free soulnites, so one minor fracass

which was dealt with very quickly is too many for my liking.

please pass on my apologies to her.

Cheers Neil will do but its not your fault.

The persons involved have the opportunity to come on here and apologise not necessarily to a third party but to yourself and all concerned @ Soulfusion for their misconduct!

OXFORD NORTHERN NIGHT 24th. JANUARY, with "HITSVILLE" CHALKY

Cheers Del, thanks for persisting in your journey to soulfusion, I know you had to make a few route changes due to trees being down, but you made it and i am so pleased you came along, I always smile when I see that hat bobing up and down on the dancefloor.

looking forward to yours this week so will see you very soon

best regards

Neil

Great night Neil. Well done mate. Didn't think we were going to get there at one stage with the terrible driving conditions and fallen trees all over the road. Really surprised how packed it was considering the weather conditions. We all really enjoyed the night, some great tunes being played in the Northern room as you can see from the play lists. Also, great run Modern room. A very well organised venue, excellent bar. Top nights work by all the dj's. Something there for everyone. Northern, Modern and Soul Classic room.

See you soon mate.

Charlie, thanks a lot mate, it means a hell of a lot to hear it from my buddies at banbury, especially when I am djing there in the near future.

Good news also for you, Steve Lloyd & I are more than happy to come and help establish your modern room if and when it comes off, you only need to ask mate and we will be there from the off. I am particularly interested as I love nu/modern soul but never get the opportunity to get out and play at my event, there are so many other things to do in an evening.

best regards

Neil

Even falling trees on the A 40 could not not stop us from getting there(THANK YOU MAZ)

Fantastic night enjoyed every minute , my first visit to Soulfusion and will be at the next one for sure, great sets by all in the main room I didnt have time to visit the others but will make a point of checking them out when next we visit. It was also great catching up with some of the old crowd from Yate (you know who you are )

Well done Soulfusion !

See you at Oxford this Sat.

Richie.

As it was your birthday Richie there was no way a bloody tree was going stop us getting there.

WHAT A NIGHT!!!

Just read Jon Willis and Neil Rushtons play list and if Jerry and Neil would post theirs,Soulfusion provided us with the complete package of music(absolutely brilliant).

What a monster you've created Neil and the rest of the crew. This is a must go event.

And Neil,it will be a pleasure having a beer with you, where was it you said? CHICAGO seems as good a place as any.

See you soon good friend

Best wishes

I don't understand why you are asking me for information about an event that has nothing to do with me?

It was my first visit to Soulfusion, definately not the last. I went along with my mate (brother in law) and we're already looking ahead to when we can go again.

Spent all night in the main hall, in which I must say is a fantastic venue (great bar with regards to staff/choice of beers/prices) just a 5 mins drive from the in-laws. Upon first arriving thought the weather would stop people attending, how wrong can you be?

I think it must have been Neil Self who played the tune of the night for me (Joe Simon  ).

Anyway thanks for a great night, hope to be attending again soon. yes.gif

Thanks for the splendid write up, really pleased you thought it was worth the trip up. we look forward to your future support.
