Loved going to the Locarno after the Casino, really liked the Ballie hi room [ spelling  ] first heard "spread love " in there.

Wonderful memories

ECHO THAT MATT!

From the bits i can remember, Neil Allen emptying the funk room was one memory, Pete Smith pulling the hand towel machine off the wall and knocking himself out another.

Good "Times Guy"

I was an innocent 14 year old. The Bali Hai (the Jazz Funk room i think) was a scary place full of much older men dancing in sexy way with women  . We regularly got chased from the train through the bullring by skinheads and I remember practising dancing in front of those big mirrors in the changing rooms. It was never that full as far as i can remember and it was a big place. Very nice chill out dayer after the nighters. I think it used to start about 2pm so we must have got back from a nighter (must have been Wigan because i didn't go anywhere else then) had a sleep and then over to Brum on the train. I didn't do any gear aged 14, so i must have had plenty of energy somehow

Then school on Monday

It's a vague but happy memory :)

Use to love the Locarno, big crowd from Banbury as usual as Garv will tell you, great times,

got some great records there in the day, use to take 10 minutes to get to the dance floor from the entrance,

use to go there in 76, 77 bit earlier then you matt as a 18-19 year old and it always seem to be full, it did die down a bit in later years

dancing compitions were good, some great dancers there then

I remember one day in particular, they let a skinhead in, no interest in the music at all, he was going around beating everyone up, and whats worse was he was wearing a Aston Villa shirt, lol, and Craig a guy we use to go with hit him once and he was spark out and the bouncers carried him out and chucked him on the steps outside

Great times

Steve
