Guest Niki
Dearest groovy MENTAL Soul people, It's MonuMENTAL Soul time again. London's premier Modern Soul & Crossover night returns this Saturday 31st January and we are very pleased to welcome along our guest for the evening Mr. Shaun Robbins making his MonuMENTAL DJing debut. Shaun is currently at the helm of "Sunday Soul Selection" on Solar Radio - the UK's hottest and most listened to Modern & Rare Soul radio show. Shaun has been making a name for himself on the Modern Soul circuit in recent years and was also behind Soul Brother Records "Shaun Robbins: Sunday Soul Selection" in 2007 which included some distinctly MonuMENTAL sounding cuts. We know he is going to fit in just marvelously and are looking forward to some quality selections on Saturday night. Niki Golding & Neil Forbes will also be joining Shaun Robbins as his guests on the Sunday Soul Selection this coming Sunday on www.solarradio.com from 10am to 12pm to round off a MonuMENTAL weekend. The MonuMENTAL Soul website has been updated (woohoo) and the latest batch of flyers & POSTERS are hot off the press. This time we are featuring the too cool for school Chuck Bridges and the L.A. Happening. A prize of a free poster to anyone who can give us any useless information about this West Coast group. Label, year and LP title will not count! That's about it for now, except to say your resident MENTAL DJs are as ever Gareth "Girth Devon" Donovan, Mole and me, Niki Golding. We will be spinning a selection of funky floor-fillers, modern soul anthems, lesser known 60s & 70s, ultra rare crossover and a smattering of new SOUL releases.... something for EVERYONE! The very best in QUALITY SOUL old and new. A night of great soul music and great company at a great venue, with a wooden floor made for dancing and our legendary pub priced beer and draught bitter. Currently the longest running Modern Soul event in London. Now entering our sixth MonuMENTAL year! See you on Saturday Niki, Girth & Mole xx www.monumentalsoul.co.uk Monumental Soul @ The Britannia 20 Monument Street London EC3R 8AJ London's premier Modern Soul & Crossover night Doors: 8.30pm to 2am Tax: seven quid (£5 before 10pm) The Britannia is by The Monument - just a 30 second stroll down the hill from Monument Tube station (District & Circle Lines, and foot tunnel to Northern & Central Lines), walking distance to Fenchurch Street, Cannon Street, London Bridge (just over the river) and Liverpool Street Rail stations.
