Hi Spud,

I have an original Hickory White Demo and paid £225 for it. As far as I'm aware, it hasn't been booted on Hickory. I haven't got my records to hand coz I'm away, but if you could put the Matrix details on here, I'm sure someone will be able to check it for you.

Great record by the way................... Keep it.

It was definitely booted on Hickory white demo, the run off is much larger than on the original. You paid how much for a demo, I sold an issue on friday for £75 and it's twice as hard as the demo!

also theres a nashville matrix stamp in the run out of the original is that correct pete, as pete says was deffo booted on hickory w/d

Hi Pete,

£75 is mega cheap for an issue. £200+ is about the right price for a W/D... Mint one. But then again mate, I don't sell records. I only buy them!!

Paul at Soulgalore as a M- one on his site now for £200+. I do buy allot of records from Paul and I would say he is always spot on with his grading. Too be honest, he grade's them worse than they really are, I would say Paul's Ex would be another dealers M-. But that's only my opinion. I have always found his price's to be bang on the money as well.... If your right about £75 for an issue and you say it's twice as hard to find than a W/D.......... What's the W/D worth.... £45... ??

Don't take this the wrong way Pete, I'm sure you know your records allot better than me, I'm just explaining (or maybe trying to justify) the price I paid. Anyway mate, if I paid well over the odds or got it for the right money. I'm happy with it.....

Take Care Pal............ KTF............ Bridgey..

Just saying - I'd sell you the WD same price as the issue, but having said that, after what happened Friday, I'd now ask £100 for the issue...but maybe still £75 for the demo. I would seriously want at least 3 copies for £250. Then again, I just paid £100 too much for the UK demo so I can't talk.

Swoz we've already had this discussion, just because you paid X amount for something doesn't mean that's the 'true' value, you can't go by auction prices, otherwise Shirley Ellis "Soul Time" CBS demo is apparently worth £183! How many demos have I had, I've had two, and three issues, how many have you had, and what difference does that make?

Only if you're daft enough to pay that much, Bridgey mate!

It comes up all the time and everywhere. Pete's valuation is grounded in reality. I wouldn't (and didn't) pay more than £75.00 for Hickory demo, or issue.

John M might be able to get £200.00 for a demo. I doubt very much if many regular dealers could, and I'll bet the Soulgalore copy sits on that site for a while...

Hope all's well otherwise - keep on truckin!

Hi Spud,

I'm still away on the road until either late Friday night or Saturday morning. Once I get home I'll check out the matrix numbers in the dead wax for you. Hopefully mate, your's isn't a booted one. 10p WOW......... Lovely bargin.

I asked you to put the Dead wax details on here hopeing that someone would come on and help you, however, they all seem to be keen on having a go at me for paying £225 for mine, which I stated that I was very happy with.

(In a bit of interest, I paid 50p for an Original: Melvin Davies - Find A Quiet Place, on Wheel City).... (Value: £750+ ?????)

Some you win, some you lose!!

Take Care. I'll get back to you on the Dead Wax details for the Frankie & Johnny when I get home.

Really rare on Japanese Decca, lyrics slightly changed to describe Origami, it,s called "I,ll Fold You."
