Hi Y'all,

Does anyone know the R & B style 'It could have been me' track that appears on the 1965 film soundtrack to 'Who killed Teddy Bear'?

It's a driving uptempo R & B style track, it's during the scene where Sal Mineo is dancing with Julie Prowse.

Many thanks in advance

Simon

P.S. There's a clip on youtube if anyone wants to see it.

No, but the theme song was the A side of Leslie Uggams "Don't you even care".

Cool track and great movie...don't know if it helps but Bob Gaudio (The Four Seasons) wrote most of the soundtrack for the film

The publicity blurb for the film said it all ............

" A New York City nightclub disk jockey receives obscene phone calls from a sexual psychopath .

A vice detective is obsessed with the case .

A pornography-addicted busboy is obsessed with the girl .

The busboy's bizarre sister is obsessed with the past .

Where did all these obsessions begin ? "

I have trailed through various sites , in an attempt to see if I can come up with any info on / for the music on the soundtrack , but as yet I am still searching .

If and when I come up with anything , I will both PM you and post it on this thread .

One thing I did find - the music for " HKTB " is credited to the notable composer and arranger , Charles Calello ( credits include amongst many The Toys " A Lover's Concerto " ) .........

Sal Mineo was murdered in 1972 when he disturbed a burglary at his home.

:g: Well as far as I can make out it was written by the Four Seasons' Bob Gaudio & Al Kasha. Some of the soundtrack was those two with the assistance of Charles Callelo.

Singer could be Al Kasha, previously known as Billy Casher of the 4-Evers, butI can't find a solo voice-clip to compare.

My best guess would be that it's sung by Sal Mineo himself, as the vocals are a bit weak (like much of his stuff).

Charles Calello was a member of The Four Lovers , who became The Four Seasons ........
