I can remember the 1st time i walked into the Casino late 73, walked straight into the middle of the floor which was 1/2 to 3/4 empty and just started to dance, i still had my denim jacket on and my bag was on the floor in front of me, i have no idea what made me do that , about 30 mins later as the floor was filling up nicely i started to get a few glances from other dancers who must have thought i was in a disco dancing round my handbag , exit stage right to dump the bag & coat and back on the floor for what seemed like an eternity, did dance an awful lot in them early days then once the addiction of vinyl took over i seemed to spend less time on the floor and more time in the rear record bar Ahh happy happy days & i have worked out i am now almost twice the weight i was in 73 !!! jeez i really need to dance more now but still all these years later spend 99% of my time in the record bars !! Kev's right !! 99% of punters don't care as long as they can dance and have a good time, the biggest issue these days seems to be bar opening times & bar prices yet we continue to listen to a 1% minority ! do whatever you want mate, it,s your night !! as for food at a free soul night, count me in Dave Ian.

WOW, had Johns email ref the DD auctions and thought i,d have a gander, by the time i received the email to opening his site link to the page they were all gone , around 4 mins !!!! I,ll not ask for names of folk sat waiting patiently by PC's with twitching fingers armed and ready to pounce But what i did notice is the amount of 70/80's style acetates that are being sold and hunted down, are they now classed as a collectors item ???, lots of them have cheap classics on them too !! John used to sell them in batches of 5 or 6 or 7 for £9/10/11 but now notice he sells them individually for same amount and they sell in seconds !!! Ian.

has to be one of the best dancers records out there !!! OK the vocals are a bit weak but it is pure Northern Soul and without doubt a real gem of a find. Dunno about Chalky having cloth ears, there must be 100's of sounds with dodgey vocals that get played every week Again if you look round most people that hate it haven't got a copy and that ain't going to change much as i can't see many more copies being found now & good !!! let it remain dog rare ! what about pitch+/- etc, that utube take could be slowed down ?? i have an original striped tamla issue T 54034 with berry Gordy Jr spelt correct & on my deck at home it plays just marginally faster then both these clips on here, now i know my ion usb deck plays a tad fast as most do so are any of them that different apart from the faster release of the day & the slower original, i can't see there being 2 takes of the slower one !!
